2008 Harley Davidson XL1200N Sportster 1200 Nightster Questions & Answers
Where is the oil plug on 2008 harley nightster
Transmission/primary or engine????
Engine drain plug is in a rubber hose that hangs down under the motorcycle transmission area at about the point where the kickstand rests in it up position. It has a worm clamp that you would loosen with a one quarter inch socket to allow you to pull the plastic plug out to let the engine oil drain out. The transmission/primary drain plug is on the bottom of the primary cover right below the middle of the clutch inspection (derby) cover. It is a 5/8 inch hex head plug
DRAIN PLUG LOCATION 2008 XL1200N
Drain plug for the primary/transmission is a 5/8 plug on the bottom side of the primary cover on the left side of the bike. The oil drain is not a plug. It's a hose that's clipped to the frame behind the motor near the rear motor mount. It takes a flat head screw driver to remove it from the frame clamp. To remove it from the frame just pull it off of the frame first. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at
