Your described problem could be the battery but I am also inclined to suspect the voltage regulator. If the 'splutter' is when revving/higher RPMs, then the CDIs are cutting off possibly because of higher than normal voltage from the regulator and/or the battery is not loading the system(charging). Try charging the battery externally for at least a couple of hours, try and observe. You can also have the battery tested. If the battery checks good, accepts a charge and the bike will run normally after being charged, then the regulator must be considered.

I would think most any Engineering Companys would have a press to do the job. Try a place that does engine reconditioning. Mabey a motorcycle shop can point you in the right direction.

I have a vj22. When retightening cyl head bolts, I go to 21ft/lb then run the engine up to warm and retorque to 24 ft/lb.
NB. I did use brand new studs though. Hope this helps

You've cleaned your intake but not your exhaust.pop off exhaust and scrubit out.it may be clogging your system.you put new fuel in,did you drain the lines also? what about your oil?

hi mate when you put the coolant do you bleed the system to get the air out of the cylinder

no. dampers are just there to improve stability but not a legal requirement for MOT

Can anyone tell me which model of Ohlins damper is needed to fit a 2001 RS250. As far as i can tell from initially looking into it the SD200 looks like the kiddie? u need a damper with stroke of 140mm and above and I believe ohlins is 150mm,,
