what size rebel, when you say the choke do you actually mean the choke lever or the choke mechanism?

Check your manual. I'm not sure what year they started putting them in, but there is a gas shutoff safety that will activate when the bike is on its side. It is re-settable.

With the loss of power and louder sound I would say it can very well be that you have blown a hole in the exhaust gasket.

check your engine monuts they may need replacing, if there is movement this may cause them to keep snapping

I have never heard of the XYST brand. I checked the internet and came up empty as well. I suggest you walk away from this machine for one simple reason. Where are you going to find repair parts and where can you find a dealer to do the repairs? Any ATV or motorcycle that is void of accessible parts and repair facilities is one I would avoid like the plague.

try turning both the tick over and air screw fully tight then turn them 2 turns out then try again you may have to play with them to get it right

the air screw is the bottom one

The throttle seems to be stuck in the open position, either by the throttle cable or it is jammed there somehow. Get that throttle to close and make sure that it is closed completely, be it butterfly or slide type, before starting the machine again, then find out what is holding it open. The machine needs air to run away like that, fuel alone will not do it, so work on the throttle. Come back to me if you have any problems or need more information.

Sounds like the carbs have blocked jets or are in need of setting up.
I would start with the main jets, cleaning or replacement.

From memory, 8 thou inlet and 12 thou exhaust.

It could be a faulty kick stand switch as some had those fitted.

You will have to remove the top yoke & re-bed the bearings by turning the bottom c-ring until it seats lightly, re-lock with top c-ring & torque down the top nut

I TAKE IT YOU HAVE CHECKED THE CONDITION OF THE PINOUTS FROM THE ALTERNATOR, THE EARLY SUPERDREAM SUFFERED WITH ALTERNATOR PROBLEMS,IE BURNING OUT/ THE CHAIN WOULD ALSO CUT THROUGH THE WIRE FROM THE ALTERNATOR. AND THE WIRE PINS IN THE BLOCK CONECTORS WOULD ALSO CORODE AWAY. MOST LIKELY FAILURE OF ALTERNATOR MOST COMMON, THERE IS A CHECK YOU CAN DO TO ELIMINATE IT, CHECK THE OBVIOUS FIRST

If you go to bikebandit.com or babbitsonline.com and you can look up your old parts on parts microfiche. They will show all the parts, how they go together, and if you are missing any. You just have to look up your year, make, and model.

If it only smokes when starting up and when pulling away, the valve guide seals need to be replaced. If it smoking constantly, the rings are bad. If you replace the rings, hone the cylinder walls and replace the valve guide seals at the same time. You may want to go to a hotter plus also. Please rate my answer. Thanks.
