On the flywheel is a one-way clutch. It matches to a large starter gear that turns the motor over if the smooth surface on the large starter gear has become chattered/no longer smooth the you will need to replace it and the three rollers in the starter clutch to make the starter grab and turn over the motor. On the diagram you are looking at part numbers 28 and 15. http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/1981-honda-cb650/o/m1975#sch31728

try bleeding new fluid through it,
check the resiviour is venting correctly,
Make sure the pedal has some freeplay.
the next step would be a rebuild kit for the master cylnder

I woud say the ignition timing has not been adjusted to cope with the new pipes.
Consult the manual for adjustment procedure.

Yes,that is part of the fuel passage,it should be a snug fit,if it pulls out easy or falls out it needs to be replaced, what I do to get them to fit easy is squirt wd 40 on a peice of paper and dip my finger in it and rub it on the rubber plug to make it easy to install, you dont need alot, just enough for it to slip in,I also do that on the o-rings on the float, that makes sure you get a good snug fit,and seals properly,I learned that the hard way, hpoe that helps out.

nine times out of ten you need to get your carbs syncronized

1981 Honda CBX | Answered on Dec 02, 2010

To start with I beliee your jets are gummed up to solve that I would just put some STP carb/injector cleaner additives using double recommended fuel mix ratio into the fuel tank, make sure the additives is properly mix with tank fuel, get the bike warnm up for about 10 minutes, then get it going for about 15 -20 minutes with variable gas bursts by revving the RPM between 2500 - 5000 RPM. Shut it off and let it cool off for about 30 - 60 minutes then repeat the same process again for another two to three times so the jets are cleaned out from any sticky gums. Make sure your battery have a full charge all the times, this may liokely resolve your problem. If good enough give your best comment. Thanks

if its similar to my 87cbrf1 my speedo cable routes down to the left fork and you"ll see the cable enter a black plastic piece one end having a screw, the inner cable tangs match the inner axle tangs while locked in place... you can spin the front wheel and watch the speedo react. Now to take it out all's you'll have to do is unscrew the holddown screw and pull the cable assembly back out. very easy. i just hope yours is mounted on the fork and not on the valve cover because im not too familiar with that type.hope this helps you out! can i get somefeedback.. only if it does help...thanks!

Tap the bowls with a screw driver handle while the gas is turned on. Your floats are sticking. If that doesnt work then you have to take the bowl off and make sure your floats are not bent.

Hi, Sean parts swapping is common with most motorcycles when it comes to interchangeable or compatible parts from one model with another except for CDI's they are year-make-model specific the best thing to do is call your local Dealership Parts Department or a reputable independent shop. If your location is not near a shop then go online and find a parts catalog or "FICHE" and match part numbers depending on your criteria.
