A ticking or clacking sound could be a simple valve adjustment. A leaking exhaust gasket where the head pipe goes into the head can also cause the same sound. These are cheap and easy to fix. If the sound continues after checking the valves and changing the ex o-ring gaskets, you probably have a bad self adjusting cam chain tensioner in the cylinder.

Most common problem for Honda's is the switch (about $100) Usually it is right on the radiator or in some cases on the radiator cap mounting tube. There are two switches you will find ,single wire is the temp sender, two wire is the fan on/off switch. The two wire switch is the one that usually goes bad. Test the fan motor to make sure it works (rare). New they can run $200-$300.

the carbs need to be cleaned out, the front carb has a stopped up low speed jet. If you have already cleaned them then they need to be synchronized. Cleaning means removal and dis-assembly, you cannot get to the jets by spraying cleaner in the air intake.

You need need to check the pulsar pick up ( like points for a cdi style ignition) , the coils,and the spark plug caps. If any of these are bad replace them. If all test good then your problem is a bad cdi box.

Test the charging system output, if it is charging at idle engine speed or if it is only charging at rpms above idle.. .(also) the battery may need to be serviced or replaced if it doesn't pass a loaded volt test.

No it's a drain or carb overflow tube. It is there to take the lost gas away from the hot motor.

if the tail light is working, then look at the sensor, it is placed under the seat( it is a small black box 2x1,5cm) disconnect and clean contacts. Also put some contact spray in other wire joints.

You must have a foot hand brake switch mal-adjusted / faulty. back them both off (If possible) and it should extinguish.

Does it still work with headlamps off?? If so then one of the switches are faulty / need adjusting.

The fuel filter is in the tank on the petcock and is self cleaning. I suspect you have bad spark plug caps on your bike the cap is part of the wire. If you remove the wire and take a reading with an ohm meter, the cap should read 5000 ohms . Anything above or below and you should replace the cap. This is probably causing the slight miss.

stand the bike upright, there should be a mark on the plastic resivoir below the radiator, fill coolant to mark.. It's been a few years since I've worked on a Honda but I'm sure the mark is on the left (shifter) side.

if you are sure the carbs are ok then check the linkage for wear, i had one do the same thing cause the carbs were not in sync and one cyl is fighting the other

Initially, it would appear that the contacts of the starter relay are fused together. To locate the starter relay, follow the cable from the battery's + terminal.

Hi! One cause of stator failure is when the battery is faulty. Have a battery check up and please replace if necessary to avoid stator failure. HOpe this helps and have a good one!

Yep, its a common problem. The pinion gear on the starter is sticking and will need to be removed, cleaned and tested. If it is worn out then have it replaced.

either that or your stator or the rectifier are not longer working right. try to check the output of those.
how old is the battery? if you have a battery tender, try putting the battery on the battery tender for a while.
if you have a draw on the battery, check any accessory that you may have installed and the cables that goes to them. look for loose connections or rusty ground
