Suzuki tc 100 1972 only has one plug wire but has

It is not good to run this bike on one cyl . Someone has changed the coil on this bike . I am not
sure of the reason why. I say take the spark plug out of the cyl that does not have a wire on it,
and look at the plug, see if it has any damage to theou end , if it is black and wet, clean it up . Then
take the plug wire of the cyl that has been used and put it on the other cyl. it should run about the same as it did on the other side . If everything is good, and sound good , then go buy the coil that
belongs on there. It is a 2 wire coil. if you need the wires get them too. This will increase your
power and speed by double what it was .

How do i remove the front brake cable? im having a

Is it off the brake lever on the handle bar? If not shorten the outer cable by turning in the knurled adjuster at the back of the brake lever. This will make it easy to take the inner cable off the brake lever. Once that is off you can work on the hub and you should now be able to swing the inner cable round to slide it off the lever on the hub. If that is damaged it might be difficult to clear the cable and the end nipple, so you will need to open the gaps using a flat screwdriver as a lever. When you put it all back together it will help to lubricate the inner cable with some engine oil which you can run down the inner from the brake lever end. Moving the inner cable up and down helps the oil to travel down the cable.

No spark

Check the fuses. Next, check for spark but with a new spark plug. How good is the battery? Try a jump start from your car battery. Is the kill switch on? Does the side stand have a kill switch? Is it working properly? Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter. You should be getting power into and out of the ignition switch.

Check the wiring harness. Did a wire come unplugged? Are all wires clean and with solid connections? Any abraded or pinched wires? Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral switch wire on center casing. If still no spark, get CDI system and coils checked at the dealers shop.

did you overhaul it your self? i need more information to help you solve this problem. take off the air cleaner and look down the carb. move the throttle linkage by hand and you should see a squirt of gas. if not your not getting fuel or have a bad accelerator pump. also check your idle mixture screws on the front of your carb. screw them in all the way ( count the turns ). then back them out again. it should be one and a half to two and a half turns out. good luck!

Suzuki TC 100 won't start but park for 10 years bought new spark

Go to the dealer and ask for the stock plugs for your bike. Check for spark on each of the new plugs then install the plugs.

Remove the carbs , dissemble it and clean the varnish out. Remove the petcock, ( gas valve ),water trap and clean it out. Next let one cup of gas flow into a container. Any water or rust in the bottom of the container? If any rust was in the water trap or the container then purchase an inline fuel filter to eliminate the rust getting into the carb.

If cleaning the carbs yourself does not do the trick then take it to the dealer and have them clean it and install carb kits. This should eliminate the carbs as a problem. Get a new air filter and install it.

Now you have spark, gas and air. If it still will not start it is likely that you need new crank seals. On a bike that old you may well need new crank bearings as well.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!

Suzuki 1982 GS650L starting issue. I get one click

If you can, monitor the battery voltage when you apply the start button. Many times a battery may show a good voltage until a load is applied at which point the voltage will drop off sharply indicating the battery is in need of replacement. Depending on the severity of the problem with the battery it could run fine but fall on it's face when a significant load is applied (cranking the engine). Also if you jump it again check the voltage of the battery while the bike is running...should be in the vicinity of 14.5 volts.I have seen on more than one occasion wring harnesses that have connectors with slight corrosion throughout the harness. This can cause a voltage drop in the harness that will be significant enough to where the start relay cannot be actuated. Find a clip cord and bypass the harness by running the cord directly from battery positive to the positive side of your start relay. Be aware that is doing this you are bypassing any safety switches in the system (sidestand, clutch, nuetral) so be sure the bike is out of gear before trying this. Connect your meter between a good ground and the starter side of your start relay, watch for battery voltage when you try and activate the relay. If battery voltage looks good then it may well be the starter motor. You can also bypass the relay by using a jumper cable and running it from battery positive directly to the positive of the starter motor itself....again...make sure the bike is in neutral. While you are at all this check for the tightness of all fasteners you encounter, particularly the ground. A dodgy ground can cause no end of head scratching. Sometimes as well a fastener may appear tight but has corrosion at the connection. It is a good idea to undo the connections for inspection and clean them up with a small brass brush and some contact cleaning type spray.

Is there a fuel reserve

If I remember I don't think they have a manual switch you can switch to reserve on/off. Like everyone's saying it works off vacuum. The only warning you have is when the idiot light comes on, time to refuel. You should take a note the next time you fill up and figure out what type of mileage you are getting, that way you know when to fill up before you're stranded somewhere you don't want to be.
I believe the idiot light means you're now in reserve.

A jet kit isnt going to help unless the current fuel mixture is incorrect. Usually the simplest go fast tip is a new muffler that is less restrictive than the genuine one, and then rejet the carb to match the new muffler. dont forget to upgrade the brakes and suspension as well it you get it going faster, as four wheeler cause more serious injuries each year than two wheel bikes.

actually the write up from ollie reese is not correct and is demontrated on a kawasaki. Though kaw is manufactured by suzuki, the motor shown is not the same. its is all correct however your oil filter is located and sticking out of the front side of your engine, just like a car oil filter. You cannot miss it. so drain oil from drain plud below, remove the oil filter(please note this will have oil in it and most likely spill so be prepared) and replace. now fill the oil where you find the black dipstick to factory set levels and ride away. good luck

Hi I have owned a

Briggs has used several different carbs over the years. It sounds like time to clean the interior of the carb. If your carb has a float bowl, remove the bowl and use spray carb cleaner to clean the inside of the carb. Spray into every little hole you can find. Be sure not to get the cleaner on the primer bulb if your carb has one. If that and a new spark plug does not fix the problem, purchase a carb kit and install it.
