Installing aftermarket turn signals on a Suzuki 1978 gs1000. Windjammer fairing removed so I have no wiring reference for turn signals. Need a wiring diagram, or just a simple explanation. PLEASE help

Get a test light. Hook clip on - side of battery. Turn on turn signals and ck wires. The light will flash, that is the + wire. If turn signal has only 1 wire hook that to the + wire. The - connection will ground through frame and complete the connection.

1980 gs 1000 fuel petcock has two connections where do they go?

On the one that has two hoses does it still have an "Off" position? Usually petcocks that have two hoses, one goes to the carb vacuum, and the other is for a fuel supply for the engine. That way it only allows fuel to flow when the engine is running. I have found these to be a poor design and can often leak and allow fuel to run into the engine if your carbs are acting up. If the replacement only has one hose, then it will work fine, just be sure to cap off the vacuum port on the carb.

1978 Suzuki 750. The front end is not lining up and loose.

go to www.bikebandit .com and pull up your bike and go under wheels, tires, final drive and make sure you have it put back together just like the diagram shows you because it sounds like you might not have the bearing spacer lined up just right or might have accidently put one of the bearing spacers on the wrong side i have seen this many times even by the pro's and make sure you torque it to specs.please let me know if this helps if not we will figure it out.

Need wiring harness diagram

Go to this site and you can download a free PDF service manual.
www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp They have a single manual for a GS750. It is for a 1976. That is close enough to your '78 to still be very useable.

Can I get a “very helpful” rating on this answer?

1978 suzuki gs 750e Wont rev it will idle but only

Could be a sticking float, clogged jets, restricted fuel flow( filter etc)' loosen drain screw in each of the 4 carbs, this is the lowermost screw try and catch the fuel in a container, you should have a similar amount from each carb, a lesser amaount from any of the carbs would point to a problem in that particular carb.

I have a 1980 Suzuki

Yes, yes, and no, and I don't know. You could have blown a fuse, but it seems it would be showing other symptoms if you did. THe age of the battery is a good indication of condition, over one year old, suspect, over 2 years old, definitely could be in need of replacement. Check the water in the battery and fill it to the level with bottled water, or rain water, no minerals, then get one of those floaty ball testers and check the electrolyte fluid weight, One dead cell, the battery is shot. Could have been not enough time to charge it back it up. A battery charger needs to run all night. So, check it out, hope this helps.

95% of the time centre is on forward is reserve and back is off, simple way to make sure is remove the hose at the tap and try it like that, you will have 2 positions where fuel is flowing, on and reserve, the 3rd off.

My 1978 GS750 has a

needs just a little more air on your idle mix screw and if that won't fix it, take your carb slide out and drop the inlet needle down 1 notch so as to take a little fuel away during idle, that makes it come on more crisp & clean

How to change clutch cable

Remove the gas tank then run the new cable along side the old cable. Unhook the old cable at the engine then hook up the new cable. Now remove the old cable from the bike. Give the cable adjusters all the slack you can get then hook the cable into the clutch handle. Pull the outer cable outward and hook the end of the outer cable on the outside of the adjuster. Pull the lever in all the way then release the lever while pulling on the outer cable. This should allow you to snap the cable end into the adjuster fitting. Below is a generic photo. Please rate my answer. Thanks! tombones49_47.gif

I've replaced the coils, spark

Did the bike run fine previously...or unknown history?

Does it crank the starter normally?

Have you verified with a grounded spare spark plug that the ignition is actually firing as you crank starter...if not...might be an interlock problem....is neutral light on...have you tried with sidestand up and clutch pulled in? Kill switch ON?
Usually the interlocks prevent cranking too but older bikes tend to get rewired by some ownerthats.

Not sure on your model, but some use vacuum operated fuel petcocks...if yours has them...have you tried setting them to PRI or prime position to fill carbs without vacuum?

It hasn't run in five

If the engine was seized, major engine damage was done and must be repaired first. Pistons, rings, barrells? any of the above or all.
