Hi, Sdevilliers and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty.
2. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
3. Fouled spark plugs.
4. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enricher.
5. Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
6. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
7. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
8. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and module.
9. Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
10. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty ignition coil, ignition module or sensors (MAP, CMP, CKP, O2 and/or BAS).
11. Security alarm needs a reset.

It could be the gear position switch neutral switch on the rear of the gearbox if oil dripping from rear
Could also be output shaft seal going
A good site for help from other oil head riders is ukgsr as the only way to find leak is to remove drive parts till you find leak

Blue smoke is caused by engine oil entering the cylinder area and being burned along with the fuel air mixture. As with white smoke, just a small drop of oil leaking into the cylinder can produce blue smoke out the tailpipe. Blue smoke is more likely in older or higher mileage vehicles than newer motorcycles with fewer miles. How did the engine oil get inside the cylinder in the first place? The car has many seals, gaskets, and O-rings that are designed to keep the engine oil from entering the cylinder, and one of them has failed. If too much oil leaks into the cylinder it sometimes cause's a misfire (engine miss) in that cylinder, Using thicker weight engine oil or an additive designed to reduce oil leaks might help reduce the amount of oil leaking into the cylinder.you can also get the pots pressure tested just to see if you have warn rings, or even leaky valve seals as this will cause the same fault, to find out if its the rings, just pressure test them first remove the spark plug, pressure test that pot, then record the reading, then pour some oil into the pot ( make sure you disconnect HT leads to stop it from running) then test again, if it is way higher then the rings are warn and need replacing, if it is roughly the same, a couple of psi/bar than the first test then its ok...hope this helps,

Go to Sears or another large auto parts store and ask them to test the battery and chargeing system. They do it for free.

who told you that???? a wally or what?
im sorry to tell you the cluch slave cylinder has nothing to do with the cluch thrust bearing the slave cylinder only operates the cluch rod,, which inturn pushes on the cluch thrust bearing which then disengages the cluch,,,if the trust bearing is warn or wearing out it rumbles or starts a knocking sound from the gear box,, this noise gets worse as the cluch bearing wears out,, finaly it starts to realy screem,, bad like!!! the problem is,, you need a new cluch fitted to the bike which is far from cheep to get repaired,,,,,and its a big job too,
i hope this has put you right,,
good luck,,from1 biker 2 another

The drain plug for your bike should be on the botom of the engine. Remove the plug and drain the oil. Remove the oil filter and repalce it with a fresf one. Fill the new oil until the site glass or dip stick is at the correct marked level.

The problem you are having is most likely due to tight valves. Your exhaust should never get "red" unless you are running a turbo on the bike, in which case that is completely normal.
I would first check the exhaust system for blockages, these usually happen around couplers or in the diffuser in the rear of the exhaust. This is much like a catalytic converter going bad. Put your hand at the rear and make sure you are feeling good pressure coming out of the exhaust. I'd recommend you do this when the engine is not hot so you don't burn your hand. If you feel good pressure coming from the exhaust then you most certainly have tight exhaust valves and this need to be addressed very soon or you will cause serious damage to the engine.
Best of luck!

Hi, Debbie it could be your idle rpm's are set to low if the light goes out when the rpm's are increased, otherwise you may have a charging issue, so before testing any electrical component in the Charging System it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
1. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
2. To check the regulator unplug it from the stator. Take a test light and clip it to the negative terminal of the battery and then touch first one pin and then the other on the plug that goes to the regulator. If you get even the slightest amount of light from the test light the regulator is toast.
To do this with a meter: black lead to battery ground, red lead to each pin on the plug, start with the voltage scale higher than 12vdc and move voltage scale down in steps for each pin. Any voltage is a bad regulator.
3. On the other part of the disconnected regulator plug. Set the multimeter for Ohms x1 scale and measure for resistance across the pins of the stator. You should read something around 0.1 to 0.2 ohms for a 32 amp system.
4. Then check for continuity between each pin on the plug and frame/engine ground. The meter needle should not move (infinite resistance)(digitals will show infinite resistance) if the meter needle does move (indicating continuity)(digitals will show some resistance), recheck very carefully. If the meter still shows continuity to ground the stator is shorted (bad).
5. Set the meter to read A/C volts higher than 30 volts (the scale setting for voltage should always be higher than the highest voltage you expect or you may fry the meter). Start the bike, and measure from one pin to the other on the plug (DO NOT cross the multimeter probes! - touch them to each other). You should read roughly 16-20 vac per 1,000 rpm.
6. If the battery was good under load test, if the stator is NOT shorted to ground, and the stator is putting out A/C voltage, then the regulator is bad (most likely even if passed step 2)
