Has there been issue with 30 amp curcuit breaker needing to be changed to 40 amp on 2002 FXST
Main circuit breakers were a problem on the older bikes, problem being when over heated the would pop and you would lose all power to the bike. Now if you bike is dying and you still have power and are able to crank it but it wont start, then I'd be looking at you CPS not the main breaker. One way to tell if it's CPS is to remove it when bike doesn't start. Wipe all the oil off, take a can of compressed air blow it on the CPS to cool it down, put back in bike and start it, If it starts then the sensor is bad.
How to drail oil pan on 2002 softail
Get oil hot then remove 5/8 inch hex with 1/4 inch Allen socket in middle drain plug on rear frame down tube by rear wheel on right side and catch oil as it comes out.
Hazards flash 6 times, bike wont start
Your anti theft system is activating when it flashes. You need to push the button on your key fob to disarm it. When you do the flashers should flash once or twice to signal that it is armed/disarmed. If it does not, try replacing your battery in your fob. or use the anti theft codes with your ignition switch and turn signal buttons. Check your users manual to do that.
How to jump the starter
I wouldn't recommend jumping at the starter. check your syl. switch to see if the fire is going threw and the switch on your handle bars .
Motor mount torque specs
Front engine mounting bolts 70-80 ft-lbs
Transmission mounting bolts 30-35 ft-lbs criss-cross pattern
Top engine mount bolt 45-50 ft-lbs
Engine/transmission bracket bolts 30-35 ft-lbs
2002 FATBOY, AFTER SITTING A WEEK, CHANGED OIL AND
The Oil Capacity is 3.5 qts. (3.3 L) are you sure you pulled the right drain plug, and drained the ENGINE oil? The engine oil drain hex bolt is located on the right side of the motorcycle and is removed/installed horizontally.
Transmission oil drain hex bolt is located on the left side of the motorcycle and is removed/installed vertically.
