Metal in the primary oil

This is not uncommon on Harleys with high mileage or which have not been properly maintained. Change the primary oil, and verify that the primary chain is not loose or compromised. Change the primary oil again within 1000 miles or so, verifying that there is not an unusual amount of metal in the oil again. If there is, remove the primary cover entirely and replace any parts that are wearing unusually.

1986 harley electriglide classic start starts slow if doesnot start i hear something release from starter or solinoid

First make sure your battery is fully charged & your gas is good but it sounds as tho you have a bad starter solenoid or bad battery cable or loose connections at the battery itself.

What is tappet noise at higher revs

Could be thin oil, worn lifters, old oil, other worn valve train parts or normal. I have no idea why but synethetic oil seems to have higher tappet noise.

2003 harley wiring

There are many wiring diagrams. You need to advise what one you need but if you are in a position of needing wiring diagram in any case I would suggest that you purchase an electrical service and diagnostic manual from H-D.

HOW DO I check the oil on 2002 FLHTCUI

Ride until engine is at normal operating temperature, locate oil filler plug/dipstick on right side of vehicle at top of transmission case, to remove the oil filler plug, pull steadily while moving plug back and forth. With the vehicle at operating temperature and resting on the jiffy stand on level ground, allow the engine to idle for 1-2 minutes, the turn the engine off, pull out the dipstick, wipe off the dipstick and insert it back into the oil pan with the plug pushed completely into the fill spout, then remove the dipstick and note the level of the oil. Add only enough oil to bring the level to the FULL mark on the dipstick. See Figure 1-2. Do not overfill.

Fix my harley

Sorry, this could be quite complicated and I do not find many H-D technicians that understand radio electronics. You likely need a radio shop.

Wiring diagram for 91 fxstc

Do you have a 91 or a 2003. Cannot help with 91 but a Harley dealer would possibly still have a service manual and be able to help but there will be lots of diagrams so you will need to be specific about what one you need.

My speedometer is not working on 2003 electa glide but cleaning sensor did not work - what is next step

What's the top speed on one of those things anyway? 25ish? 30? Check the wiring with an ohm meter. Check the sensor with an ohm meter. Does the headlight work after you changed the bulb. You might have put it in backwards.

How do I check the ignition coil

Ignition Coil Primary Circuit Test

Remove the coil. THEN set your ohmmeter scale to RX1 and place ohmmeter leads on the primary coil windings A (front of coil) to B (middle of coil), B to C (front of coil) and check for primary coil winding resistance which normal resistance range is zero point five and zero point seven ohms. If primary resistance is not within this range check out test results below.

Ignition Coil Secondary Circuit Test

With the ignition coil removed from the motorcycle and the ohmmeter set to the RX1K scale place the ohmmeter leads on the secondary coil windings B (middle terminal) to

R (rear secondary terminal/socket), B to F (front secondary terminal/socket) and check for secondary coil winding resistance which normal resistance range will be 5.5-7.5K ohms. If secondary resistance is not within this range check out test results below.

Test Results

A low resistance value indicates a short in the coil winding which requires coil replacement.

A high resistance value might indicate that there is some corrosion/oxidation of the coil terminals requiring the coil terminals to be cleaned and the resistance test then repeated and if after the test is repeated the resistance is still high after the terminals were cleaned the coil must be replaced.

If there is an infinite ohms or no continuity) resistance value the coil is open and must be replaced.
