How do I remove the primary to get to my primary
This is a major job. Far too much information for this forum. It will require a lot of typing in this small space.
First, you'll need a few tools that you may or may not have. You'll need an air impact wrench capable of breaking a nut with 165 foot pounds of torque and red locktite on it. Next you'll need a torque wrench capable of putting 150-165 foot pounds of torque on the nut. You'll also need a torque that will torque to 60-80 foot pounds LEFT HANDED. Not all torque wrenches will torque left handed threaded fasteners. If you have these or can get them, Please drop me a line at
[email protected] I'll type out instructions step by step.

How to change oil in 2003 HD FXD Dyna Super Glide
remove the drain plug from the oil pan, you will need either a 3/4" box wrench or a 5/8" box wrench and the drain plug will be facing forward on the the oil pan. It is easiest to remove this drain plug from under the right side of the bike. put drain plug back in after about 10 m,inutes of drain time and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. Dont forget to change the oil filter as well.
03 dyna glide won't idle
Check the throttle stop. Typically its a screw that can vibrate outa place.
Carb? drop the float bowl and be sure there's nothing clogging the idle jet.
Third is the ignition components.
The Library should have motorcycle repair manuals in the 646 stacks of reference if you don't have the service book yet.
After sitting up over the winter my 03 Dyna won't
If the bike is a carburated model, it sounds like the slow speed jet or the idle ports in the carburator are stopped up. When fuel left in the float bowl for extended periods of time evaporates, it leaves behind the thick gummy additives that have been put in the fuel for various reasons. This is what the old timers called "Varnish". If left long enough, it will dry and become hard and looks very much like varnish. To get this stuff out, the carb must be disassembled and cleaned in a carb cleaning solvent.
If the problem is on a fuel injected model, it may have the same problem but it's not as easily remedied. Consult your dealer on that.
The carb cleaner may work if given enough time. It's designed to desolve any contaminants in the fuel. The problem is that if the slow jet is stopped up, no fuel can pass through thereby limiting the amount of cleaning the carb cleaner can do.
Where is the oil drain plug on the 2003 dyna 88
Since a Dyna's oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission, so is the drain plug. There are two drain plugs. The one on the left side is the oil drain. The one closer to the center is the transmission drain plug.
Everytime i turn the key on i blow the acces fuse
Sounds like you have a short in the wiring for the tail lights! You can check under the seat and find the connector for the light wiring there. It will run thu a hole in the fender. This nole should have a rubber gromlet in it to protect the wiring. Follow the wiring under the rear fender to see if you may have had it droop and the tire may have rubbed the insulation off causing a short.
Is it possible to switch out the handlebars on my
Depends.u have about 3 or 4 inches of play......if your gonna switch to ape hangers ,there will be alot of wiring to do ....... if the dimensions are close to what u got .......then it wont be required

Change a stator
First secure the bike on a lift. disconnect battery.remove standard footpeg.Remove standard shifter. Remove all allen head bolts from outer primary cover. Some bolts are longer so keep track of where they go.Two bolts on the primary inspection cover also hold the outer to the inner primary case, so remove the cover. Now remove the outer primary case. The clutch, primary chain, adjuster, and compensating sprocket must be reoved as a single unit.Once you have done this take a rag and grasp the rotor and slide it off of the main engine shaft.Unplug the stator and remove the set screws holding it in place.Reverse procedure to install new stator.
