Why does my bike act like there is no key. Won't start

Maybe the new battery is in backwards or is no good. Sounds like the security system is activated but I guess that does not help particularly. The FOB should not have to be now unassigned to the bike but it is a possibility. Usually there are two FOBS, if not may have to go to a dealer with the HD computer diagnostic and repair system etc. DO you not have a PIN to enter. If you do not it is always possible that the dealer who sold the bike or maybe any other dealer that has worked on the bike may have a PIN or be bale to make a best guess as to the PIN for the bike. If you know how to enter a PIN try 31313.

Should i take the thunderslide off

Well, I'm afraid that I can't answer that question with any degree of certainty. See, I've never taken one off. Put plenty of them on but never taken one off. What I'd do is try to disable it rather than take it off. That may help. You may be able to find another carburetor at a swap meet somewhere and simply swap the carbs out. Plenty of people take the stock Keihin off and put an S&S or something else on. They think the Keihin isn't any good but in reality, it's a great carb if you know what to do to it. The EPA makes Harley jet them so lean to pass the emission regulations that the bikes don't run well. Go in and change the slow jet up one size and put a 0.020 washer under the needle an they run great and get 40+ miles per gallon. That's about as good as you're going to get with a Big Twin and this is on an Evolution engine. Your twin cam probably won't get quite that well and I think you said that you were getting 37 mpg in a previous post if you're the same guy. Trying to squeeze three miles per gallon extra is a pretty good feat on an 88" engine.

Good Luck

I think i'm getting bad

Well, here you go. The Thunderslide does the exact same thing as the accelerator pump in the stock carb. So, basically, you've got two accelerator pumps on your bike. My bike gets about 45 MPG so in light of this, your mileage is about what it should be with the Thunderslide.

2000 FXDX front brake rubbing

Disc brakes rub slightly anyway, but your rotor might be a little warped, so you are getting more rubbing than you should. How hot is the rotor getting after a short ride? (don't burn yourself, they do get hot after use). Is the rotor discolored blue/brown anywhere from overheating? How are the pads? If the pads are worn down significantly, the pistons may not be returning fully into their bores, and they are holding the pads against the rotors. Hope this helps.

Any good suggestions for Super Glide Sport bars?

I put pullback Deuce bars, 56330-00, along with pullback risers on my Wide Glide and like the fit. Total pullback is about 11.5". You can also get chrome FXST bars this year, 56154-04, which are close to the Deuce bars. I also put in urethane bushings which do add a little vibration, not bad but I can feel the difference. Deuce: 31" wide, 5" rise, 9" pullback. FXST: 30" wide, 5.75" rise, 9.25" pullback. Reply With Quote

WHEN I TURN MY IGNITION ON , ON MY 06 DYNA

It's probably something to do with the alarm system. The system may be disarmed and this is it's way of telling you that. I am not very familiar with the original or the aftermarket security systems. Sorry, good luck.
