2004 Harley Davidson FLHTCUI Electra Glide Ultra Classic - Page 7 Questions & Answers
I have 1998 FLHTPI
It sounds as if the idle system is blocked or restricted. If the fueling is injection then you need to get the bike on a diagnostic machine and check the fuel map and the fueling sensors. If it is Carbs- then you need to clean the carbs, the idle jets are very small and block easily over time. I hope this helps. Or you could just keep the revs up along with the front wheel, and save rubber(he he)

Most likely problem is a badly fitted seal/gasket this can cause the oilways to be blocked, take it back and get the technician to check it.This is an easy thing to do, because of the fine tolerances in the oil pump. A motor rebuild is a real pain and I'm sure the shop would rather not pay for a new motor.

Just to add to "wd4ity" very comprehensive test. If the battery voltage with the engine running is within the range quoted, Your problem is your battery. Over time the electrolyte or the plates degrade and they go to the great battery shop in the sky(just like all man made things.
My 2004 ultra classic encounter
No, the magnets are, as you know, simply glued to the rotor housing. The glue sometimes breaks loose and the magnets fall off. I'm surprised that you've run into this as much as you have. I've been working on Harleys for years and have only seen one magnet fall off. I've also seen one rotor that the magnets were not magnetized very well. This has been a problem lately. I'd talk to the dealer that I got the parts from as Harley is aware of the problem. I don't know if they'll make them good or not though.
Good Luck

Your bike came from the factory with H-D Syn.3 20W50 synthetic oil in the engine, primary case, and transmission.

Hi, Check your battery connections and cables going to ground and the starter.Fran
Primary drive chain seems lose
Your Big Twin primary chain should have 3/4" to 7/8" up and down travel when the engine is cold. As the engine heats up, the aluminum expands and the chain should have 5/8" to 3/4" when hot. Take the inspection cover off to check the tension. If you have an adjustable primary chain tensioner, loosen the nut and lift the adjuster to tighten the chain.

1991 ultra glide classic...brake problem
You have one of two possible problems. The first being the master cylinder plunger may not be returning back far enough to relieve the pressure on the rear brake system. Check to make sure you have at least a little bit of free travel in the pedal, about a half inch. Also, in the very bottom of the master cylinder reservoir, there are two holes. A large hole and a small hole of about 0.030". Make sure the small hole is not blocked. Do not drill the hole larger. The other problem is that the rubber brake hose could be damaged due to it being bent to a too tight radius when the brake job was done. The brake hose has multiple layers and the inside layer may have broke loose. This allows the high pressure fluid when the pedal is depressed to pass but not let the low pressure pass back to the master cylinder when the pedal is released. Install a new hose. I hope this helps.

Plug for headlight burnt. Is
Yes, you should be able to get that part from your dealer. You'll have to take the old plug apart and put the terminated wires into the new plug. If the terminals are bad, you may need to replace them as well. The terminals are the metal contacts that are crimped onto the end of the wires.
Good Luck
