Loosin the fuel cap may be a clogged air passage in cap if runs good find out why passage plugged ..check petcock strainer / filter in tank..or petcock obstructions or if vac operated petcock loosing vac,,,???

there is 2 spots you can adjust your clutch.

1. on your clutch leaver there should be a tension screw where the cable goes in if you need more clutch you have to make sure to bring the screw out a bit

2. down on the side of your motor you will see a cable going in there should be a sleeve covering the cable pull up the sleeve and tighten the slack by bringing the screw out a bit.

yes you can fit a tube,also if your rim says tubless type you wont need a tube

well it could be a dead spark plug or your carb. if it has been setting for a while id clean your carb.......does it smoke or anything when it starts boggin down?.

it may have to be takin apart and put in a solvent to remove varnish--are u sure the jetting procedure was done rite-thats a sensitive task-may be runnin to lean which can fry the engine valves--do u have a shop jet manual for that model

My 2002 Honda Shadow VLX did the same thing (it is 583cc or 600cc)- I bought a longer fuel hose and bypassed the auto fuel valve that is behind the small triangular shaped chrome cover on the choke knob side above the engine, and this fixed it.

Remove the right hand side cover and check coolant level in the reserve tank, engine running and at normal operating temperature.
The coolant level should be between the "UP" and "LOW" lines.
If needed top up the coolant reserve tank with a 50/50 mix of distilled water and anti-freeze.
Replace the tank cap and cover.

I don't have a book on this one, however, a lot of models will put the capacity in cc's on or near the oil filler plug. If the engine is equipped with a sight glass, the capacity may be located under the sight glass. Hope this helps. (946 cc's per quart)

Trim your grips off the handlebar part of the throttle ... your grips are overlapping and holding the throttle open ... a very dangerous situation.

Get full synthetic motorcycle oil in 5w30 weight. It should be perfect for your bike. The engine should hold about 3 qts, but I would put in 2 and then check the site glass and fill it from there. Hope this helps.

Check and clean your spark plug maybe even replace it. Also clean your carburetor.

you may have a loose or dirty battery connection it sounds like it or a bad battery

The first place I would look is to have the battery tested. The second would be the run/kill switch. There have been cases as where the kick stand switch came loose and would not be making contact while riding. Make sure the mounting bolt is tight and check to see if it moves by using your hand. If this does not help repost.

with the seat removed or open the bplts are inveiw and theres two under the fender towards the tire

first I would pull the air filter housing check filter and then check that the choke is opening and closing properly spray some carb cleaner to remove dirt/residue, pull and inspect your spark plugs clean and or replace if necessary. properly clean carbs and check fuel system to make sure your getting adequate fuel and that there is no blockage or water/dirt etc in your fuel system. If you do all this and your bike is still dying out you've got a bad or corroded wire or correction, I'd check the plug wires and work from there. The Power Steering has failed. There has been a factory recall for a suddenly failing electrical steering shaft, that could cause the rider to loose control. This does not have to be your problem but anyhow either the electronics or the pump failed. Error codes or messages usually have to be erased by a simple reset procedure or disconnecting a plug, after repairs are done.
