Backfiring through the carbs
Can pull the rear plug on the intake side and it stops misfiring ?????
You have 2 plugs - so, which one ?
But first, sync the carbs, change plugs, check the plug wires for short cut, check if rear and front spark plugs have the same colour.

first push back the pads fully ! remove dust cover if there is one , remove clips from the pins that hold the pads in place then the pins and then remove the pads ! clean the area where the pads slide witha file gently ! see if pads fit freely then put a small amount of copperslip on the edges of the pads , fit pads , pins , clips and pump up the brakes ( first make sure the fluid is full then after you pump up , top up ) ! bed the pads in for a few miles using the brakes more than usual ! I have a 95 1100
Here is my idea ...
If the battery is older than 24 months, I would replace it. When you left the lights on ... you drained it to the bottom. IF it takes a charge, it will be many hours at a trickle if you can bring it back at all.
That is my idea ...
Of couse you can do a voltabe check and a hydrometer check ... I think they will all point to a new battery.
Your battery can not be effectively charged by your alternator ... because for your alternator to work, you have to first put power into it (not self exciting). Since your battery is dead, that method will not work.
