Turns over dose not start
Take the complete broken key to a locksmith and they can make a good key from the broken one. They also maybe able to make a key from the ignition switch cylinder if you take it in.
Will 2000 honda vfr800 calipers fit ?
Try braided brake lines and sintered pads or a pad with a high % of copper in them. This will make a difference.
Changing callipers is possible not sure if the VFR ones are a bolt on mod - id go the other way first.
Braided lines will cost you about $120 fronts only and the pads will be about 45-55$

10w oil. Not sure on amount but you can fill it to just above the fork seal without the spring.
The rev meters fluctuates wildly when on drive
Hi George,
It could be as simple as a worn and catching cable , if the tacho is driven by a cable like the older cb series were.
Other wise it could be a wiring problem in the loom somewhere that goes to the tacho in the dash, and intermitted jumps the needle .
First thing is to work out which of the above is the one you have and go from there in diagnosing the issue.

Battery not charging
Need wiring diagram, and a multi meter to check windings on the stator, check the multi plug from the alternator to the regulator, can get water in, and over time give you a bad connection. If 'green' corrosion, clean and coat with light grease. Put volt meter across battery, with engine running should get approx. 13volts. Good Luck

yes there should be a bleed point and it should be fairly high on the motor have a look were the thermostat is it could be on that housing,when you say about idle does the bike just stops running or keeps running but not real well ,have you tried the idle screw and this does not help then your carbis are more than likely out of syncrinisation you may need to get these done at a dealer cheers hopes this helps

well yes it does sound like that so lets find out. The fuel needs to move through a fuel basic things to get used. 1st it must pass through the tank screen and the fuel petcock (that probally has a vacuume sw) to get to the carb,so lets confirm that first. when YOU loosten the carb,float bowl screw does fuel leak out. if YES check the carb.jets for blockage if NO check the fuel petcock for clogs or the vacuum hose attacked to the petcock and be sure its in good condition and connecten to a good vacuum source

A couple of solutions, google for Honda forums, join up always free. Then see if they have a manual download section or if anyone has a copy of the wiring diagram.
Most good libraries have motorcycle manuals that you can photocopy wiring diagrams out of.
