Ignition wire diagram for 1999 honda cbr 900rr

The 99 cbrs have a zenner diode in the ignition switch that runs to the pink wire, which reduces the power from 12v to 9v(the amount needed for the fuel pump to run,) it's a safety thing Honda did so people couldn't just hot wire it.if that is broken, it won't start.

My 1999 fireblade is over heatin i av wired the fan so it stays on but still overheatin the rad is coolin but the engine isnt any ideas could it be the thermostat and if so where is it lcated any in

It look likes it is your thermostat. It is located underneath the carbs, behind the engine block. It is inside an aluminium housing. You can strip the housing, cut the valve of the thermostat and put it back together. It will keep you going until you replace it. Just be gentle with the bike until it's fully warm, it will take longer without the stat. Franck

How easy is it to rebuild a shock on a honda

My honest opinion is that you leave it to the experts. You need some heavy duty spring compression stands and spring retainers. Sure you can source them but how often will you be rebuilding rear shocks. If you need work done on yours I would suggest going out and buying a reputable after market shock, e.g Ohlins etc.

I own a 96 fireblade

Ok, clutch slip, would not be noticable when you back off the throttle so mutch, you would mainly notice slip when accelarating as the engine speed would increase but not your actual speed, as if you hadn,t let go of the clutch fullyIs the noise noticable through all the gears? Does. The bike jurke when the noise is present? If it does i would check these items externaly. The condition of the drive chain, rotate the wheel and check for missing rolers from the chain links, remove front sprocket cover, and observe the sprocket for broken or missing teeth. Also check if the sprocket has exsess play as if the bolt were loose, if so remove and check shaft condition for dammaged splines, next look at the rear sprocket for broken or worn teeth, missalignment and tension, all fixing bolts, next grab the sprocket firmly top and bottom pull to and fro as if you were pulling from the outer and not in a rotation , you are now looking to see if the bearing in the carrier on the rear wheel has failed any exses movment would mean replacing the bearing, this would contribute to vibration, if this is ok press the chain downwards check to se if the engine moves, sometimes engine bolts become loose and vibration would again be evident, check engine subframe for damage cracking etc. Vibration can also derive from front and rear wheel bearings giving a visible vibration in footrests and handlebars in extreme cases, good luck my bet is chain and sprocket, poss carrier bearing, paul

Please could you tell me

the fork oil level should be 100 to 110 mm from the top with the fork cartridge blead & the fork fully compressed. To blead the cartridge, slowly pump the cartridge rod up & down untill you can feel smooth resistance for the FULL stroke of the rod- Both in & out.

let me know if you have any other questions.

I need to change the fork seals on my 900

HI WEATHER YOU NEED TO SPLIT THE FORKS OR NOT, YOU SHOULD, SOME OF THE OLDER HONDAS REMOVING THE LOWER FORK BOLT, ACCESABLE WHEN THE SPIINDLE HAS BEEN REMOVED, THIS WILL DRAIN THE OIL OUT OF THE FORK LEG THERE WILL BE A WASHER OR SEALING RING ON THIS SO BE CAREFUL NOT TO LOOSE IT WHEN YOU REMOVE THE BOLT, USING A BOWL OR CONTAINER TO CATCH THE OIL, UNDO THE BOLT IN THE LOWER FORK LEG, AFTER ALL THE OIL HAS BEEN REMOVED, PULL DOWN ON THE FORK TUBE IF THIS PULLS OUT OF THE LEG THEN YOU CAN COMPLETE THE JOB QUITE EASY, REMOVE DUST SEAL, CIRCLIP AND OIL SEAL, THE LATER WILL BE QUITE TIGHT IN THE LEG, WHEN YOU EASEMBLE THE FORK YOU WILL HAVE TO UNDO THE TOP FORK NUT TO REPLENISH TTHE OIL

How much oil do you put in the front forks when

It's hard to get specs in mls or cc these days so I'll let you in on a BIG secret(don't tell everyone, hush hush,& we stay wiser than others, promse not to tell, cross your heart).

Ok here we go- NO this ISN'T a joke so listen carefully.

Set the oil levels in the front forks

with the cartridges blead(simply draw up & down on the damper rod & you can feel the air bleeding out),

& before you re-fit the springs,

With the forks fully compressed
,
The fork oil level should be 100-110mm from the top.
This applies to basically all forks(except-a few like MX showa on certain RMs' & the new kawasaki 250 MXer.)
Hope this helps
Regards Andrew

How to replace top front fork seals on a 99 honda

If you have never taken your bike front-end off for any type of maintenance, you better get a friend who can show you step by step process, as it requires mtre just taking the fork off the bike once you get into the for to replace the seals and putting the fork oil into it.

Sounds like you have a float stuck in one of the carbs. That is if it not a fuel injected model.

Spark plug pop out when warmng up and wat tighten

Either it is the wrong spark plug or you have stripped threads.

If the treads are stripped, you can buy a kit to fix it or re-tap the hole. Worst case scenario, you need a new head.
