Hi Steve, Have you looked into Amsoil? www.amsoil.com They make synthetic oil that is better than petrolium base and has a longer life between changes. Hope this helps

have you checked the fuses ?, connections ?

Disassembles the front radiator and in this back you'll find the pipes of spark plugs right on top of the cylinder head.

Happens at high or low rpm? If at low, may be the vacuum pump of the fuel system is inexpensive and easy to install

trace your wires coming into the batery from your stator if the wires arent grounded than i would think that you could hook them up and they would charge but i think you have a ground coming off the stator that has to be hooked up look up wiring schematics for your stator to the battery and go from there

stator needs to be replaced, works just like a alternator, if you ever banged it or dropped the bike then you have a busted stator. easy to fix but might run you about $70-$90 bucks for a new one.

Check fuse first. Then see if you get 12V to the pump when you turn on the ignition. If not, check wiring and relevant connectors. If you do get a 12V reading, it's probably the pump itself. By the way, if you have an alarm/immobiliser, also try to disable/disconnect this!

The problem is in the ignition switch, although NOT an electrical issue. You will need to remove the ignition and take out the tumbler that the keys rides in. On the back side of the tumbler, there is a white tab that is moved by an arm that slides a pin up and down which locks the steering. Dont be intimidated by this repair. I was when I did it, but was actually quite easy. Just take you time and take pics to look back on as reference.

FL means Fuel Injection. Sensors on the injection system have detected a problem. Ride to the dealer and have them hook up a code reader. It could be anything from a dirty air filter to a fuel mapping crash. Filters etc., you buy and install yourself. Major problems require dealer servicing.
