2001 Honda CB 750 Nighthawk Questions & Answers
What is the wattage output on the 2001 750 nighthawk?
Ohms law comes into play here ... Volts x
amps = watts ...
I don't think you are asking the right
question ... lets try to work through this. Your motorcycle actually runs off
the battery. Your alternator charges the battery as is required. It will not
over charge because the regulator tells it to shut off when the battery is full.
It does not go dead because when the battery is down, the regulator turns the
alternator on and charges it back up. The alternator is constantly being turned
on and off to maintain a full charge. When you fall below some charging
criteria, your battery light comes on meaning you are using more power than you
are producing. Normally, when the engine speeds up, so does the alternator and
over comes this problem. Your battery is rated in Amp Hours ... lets say your
battery is rated at 10 amp hours ... that means the battery will put out one amp
for 10 hours before it is considered to be dead. Conversely, it will put out 10
amps for one hour before it is dead. Enter the alternator. I don't know what a
farkle is or the amount of power it uses. I would certainly put a switch on it
so I could disconnect it from the circuit. Calculate your present use by
adding the wattage of all the lights - compare that to the size of your battery
- that should give you some idea of the slack you are anticipating.12
volts X 10 amps = 120 watts.Here is a very interesting article on
Batteries for your consideration.

2001 750 nighthawk, starter will spin engine but it will not start. Kill switch maybe?
You should get nothing to the engine if the
kill switch is in the no run position. It sounds to me like you are saying the
starter is running but not engaging with the engine. This condition is typically
the result of (a) low battery (b) weak spring on the starter. First thing to
check is the voltage at the battery, start solenoid and then the starter. If
voltage is good ... 11 or more volts, suspect the starter. How old is the battery, BTW? Original? Batteries are typically good for up to 5 years ... let me repeat ... UP TO five years. Check all connections for tightness and that are all clean.Hope this helps.
Cranks but wont turnover
I don't understand this ... "cranks" is the same as "turn over". How can it crank and not crank (or turnover and not turnover) at the same time?
I think you meant to say it will crank (or turnover) but will not fire or ... it will fire but not start.
This kind of compaint point to ignition or gas. You may be 'out of time' or your plugs are fouled. Depending on the actual method of firing the plugs, you may have a 'points' problem or a sensor out of adjustment trouble. There is also that troublesome "kill switch". Are you sure the kill switch is in the Run Position???? Go check it anyway!!!
In the gas department, do you have gas? Can it get to the carb? Dirty fuel filter? Valve Open?
And as a last suggestion of where to look, are the safety interlock switches ok? The one that is on the kick stand that will not allow you to start if you are in gear and the stand is down?
If you are still stuck, it may be time for a professional tuneup at your Honda Motorcycle Shop.
I hope this helps you. Thanks for your question at FixYa.com

How do i remove the fuse box?
You don't take the fender off, you just have to slide it back a little. There is enough play in the wiring harness to the fuse box to allow you to do that.
Ignition switch
Worn ignition barrel, or maybe the key is worn. Do you have a 2nd key try that 1. Maybe the key you are using has a slight bend in it.
