2001 Honda VT 1100 C3 Shadow Aero Questions & Answers
Shifting down does not always
That's usually a case of the clutch not fully disengaging. It might be a bent fork or dirty lube problem, but more likely a case of the clutch needing to be adjusted.

Wiring problem. Check the grounding wires from the housing assembly and their connections to the wire harness of the bike.
2001 vt1100 c3 aero. coolant leak from tube
The tube should be sealed with 'o' rings. Remove clips from tube. Slide tube into one cylinder. Change 'o' ring for a new one, lubricate it, and push tube into other cylinder. Change that 'o' ring, lubricate, centralise tube between cylinders and refit clips.
Vt1100c3 bogs down at take off
Sounds like you are not getting enough gas. Check the fuel filter and change if plugged. Also, you might have gotten bad gas.
I'm installing vance and hines
Did you leave any mounting bolts loose while you assembled it? They most likely should be left loose until its fully assembled.
Even better, email Vance&Hines and ask them. It is their product and they stand behind it and help you.
Bike was running fine, good
hondas have a weakness in the regulator rectifier unit on quite a lot of models,if the lights are not brightening when the bike is given the throttle its most likely failed,if u have access 2 a multimeter test the battery, the battery should have around 12 volts with the ignition off and with the bike started the voltage should go up 2 around 14 or 14.5 when the bike is given the throttle,if it doesnt your reg rec unit has failed, hope this is of help.
Back fires and acts like
make sure your floats are set to spec or your running it to rich/ gas and air mixture is not right
MY BIKE SHIFTS HARD GOING
The heel and toe shifter is brutal on gear boxes, any motorcycle I have had over the years the heel shift was never used in fact we, we meaning all my friends would ether cut that hell part off or purchase the actual toe shifter and install it. Some of the new cruiser type bikes come with these heel and to shifters and you can hear the rider slamming the gears. The toe shifter is a much more precise feel. You can also feel if the shift has go into the gear or a faults neutral with the hell you slam through it, makes me shiver just thinking of it. A question to you (you don't need to answer it) is how many high performance motorcycles have you see with a heal/toe shifter, I would hope none
