Bike won't rev out
Could be electrical.Bikes that have generator systems need battery induced.Unlike an alternator system,like a car you can jump start and the alternator will run with good spark to fire fuel.Generator type need battery induced,so battery must have correct amperage.Can test battery with a volt or/amp test.See what you have with bike not running,then running need about 20% more volts then the 6 or 12 volt battery states (about 14 volts running on a 12 volt battery.Know your battery life span & know that a new battery that year.Plus generator must keep battery charged.I like to have a good spare and also go for a glass mat battery especially if bike is ridden season related. How do you axccess the
I believe your battery is located under the right side cover. The cover is held on by a phillips screw and two rubber grommets. Remove the screw at the front of the cover and gently pull the cover off. You should have easy access to the battery from there.
What is the best Shop Manual for this bike?
The factory manual is the best one. Then comes Clymer and then Haynes. Both Clymer and Haynes assume the user has a good knowledge of motorcycle engines to start with. The factory manual assumes you have only a basic knowledge of how an engine works. Please rate my answer. Thanks.
Over flow tube is leaking gas on a new cmx250
If its the overflow, cleaning the sticky carb float could be simple fix.
Turn off fuel, drain the carb, with drain open spray carb cleaner into the bowl through the drain.(enough to rinse away varnish) then try it out, if all is good you are done. If it still runs gas out you will need to open the carb up to clean out the trash.

You obviously love your steed and rightly so! (As I do mine FLHR) There are always issues as to what & which, I believe your CMX should use 10/40 or 15/40 grade? but that can change with conditions, I'm banging this to you From the U.k. so here 10/40 if a very warm climate maybe 0w/10 or similar, it really is a confusing issue.(I would be up for 10/40!) Par for course?
Firstly I would suggest a quality synthetic (Fully) your handbook will show grade, however if No handbook your supplier (Motorcycle Dealer) will have all relevant specifications on file. As for filter Go genuine it makes sense as there are naughty Far Eastern mass producers of cheap copies out there and they really don't give a didddly squat about your pride and joy so if malfunction occurs after your expensive investment! What a Bu'~mer!

How to disconnect license plate light wire
I have looked up an image of your taillight and there are two pin plugs about 3-4 inches out of the back of the taillight.
Try looking inside the guard or have a better look and actuially follow the wires they are there.

buy a manual for the bike from the dealer will take you their a step by step to solve most problem you have with any vehicle the extra cost will equal the part you buy that did not fix your problem. you will learn like i did and our for farthers did and they got older and things got more expensive test test test

Would help to know what kind of Honda you ride. Most of them are interference engines, the valves will kiss the pistons.
