Acceleration issues
From your description, I believe that the hose you are talking about is the diaphragms' air ventilation hose. There is a small black air box mounted on the front cylinder head's cover and that is where the air vent hoses go. Make sure the hose is not bended anywhere or your diaphragms won't be able to move freely inside the carburetors.
Spartk plug on 2003 750 honda shadow will not turn
Try the best spray lube you can get, a lanolin base is good for stopping the thread galling the alloy up on the way out.
Give it a spray, when the plug moves 1\8 turn, spray it again and let it soak( even over night)
Screw it in again the 1\8 spray it and then remove it.
If you are real worried , try to spray into the exhaust or intake, but if it is the correct plug there will be no thread exposed inside the cylnder.
use the lanolin spray or a nickle neversieze on the threads when you reinstall
Idling along in any gear...
Chances are there is a bit of condensation in the float bowls. Just remove the drain plug on the bottom edge of each bowl then put them right back in. Any water in the bowls will drain out along with whatever gas was in the bowl. Stick a fresh set of spark plugs in the bike and see what you have then. Even if I'm wrong, you haven't spent much money. The carbs should not need a true "rebuild". Cleaning and balancing the carbs should be all that's needed if condensation isn't the problem. It sounds to me that the shop is needing some extra cash for the upcoming holidays. Check with a different dealer???
Heard a sqeeking noise on
speedo cable broke, if your lucky! or the speedo mechanism that it hooks to broke. Disconnect cable, inspect cable, jack up front wheel, spin tire and if you hear squeek its the mechanism.
I have a 2003 Shadow
A "sticky" clutch safety switch & starter button. First thing put the bike in neutral. If it starts, check that the (2)wires coming from the clutch lever are fully inserted(just push on them). If it still wont cut on, push the start button and "wiggle it" while pushed in. It can be clutch safety switch. Remove the lever, push in the switch so that it pop out and spray the tiny hole on the side of the plastic switch with electric parts cleaner and then check.
Check for the voltages at :----
+12 on the yellow / red wire coming from the starter button when pressed leading to the starter relay;
0 or very low resistance to ground of the green / red wire coming from the starter relay.
Get this checked.-
Also check kickstand switch. kickstand switch is either broken or out of position. The bike kills the engine as a safety feature if it thinks the sidestand is down and the bike is put in gear while the engine is running.
Also check the connections to the kill switch. If its connections are loose, then it will not let the bike to start.

Yes, your motor and transmission are going to get hot. They are both lubricated with the same hot oil. Liquid cooling of the radiator sets the temperature of the cylinders around 195 degrees F but everything else is going to get that hot or hotter. This is normal, and for heavens sake keep small animals and children away from the pipes and mufflers.
MY HONDA A.C.E WONT STAY RUNNING WITHOUT THE CHOKE
You need to take the carburetors off the machine and open them up. Pull the jets out, make sure they are clear and you can see through them. Squirt carburetor cleaner through the passageways in the carburetor body and blow the passageways out. That is where the carburetor dirt is hiding. Use genuine Honda carburetor cleaner . Gumout is too harsh for Keihin carbs. If you want to try to clean the carburetors without disassembly buy some Chevron Techron and pour it directly into the bowls. Let it sit over night. Drain your gas tank and follow the directions on the bottle to mix 1 gallon of gasoline in a shock treatment. Pour the shock treatment in the tank , start the bike, slowly take the choke off, and run it till it idles on it's own (usually 5-10 minutes). Be careful not to let the pipes get too hot or they may blue. Then take it for a 5-10 mile drive and fill the gas tank. If the carburetors are not too bad this should clean them up. Other wise you will have to take them apart to clean them properly.
Hello
so this morning I stopped
The battery may have developed a dead cell.
Try jumping the battery and see if it starts.
If it does, at least one cell in the battery is shot. or the system isn't charging the battery.
Try charging the battery with a plug in charger, and see if it'll start after that.
If it does, ride it a while (but not far, or you may wind up pushing it a long way home)
If the battery is having a harder time starting the bike or won't start it after riding a while, there's something amiss with the charging circuit on the bike.
Alternately if you have a volt meter, check the battery before and after starting the bike. The voltage should be higher than it was originally after starting. If it's not, there's something wrong with the charging circuit.
If it IS higher, but drops significantly after riding, it's the battery, and it'll need to be replaced.
I need to charge the battery on my 2002 honda
The seat has a bolt located in the storage compartment of the backrest, remove this bolt will give you access to the hold down bolts located on the rear fender for the split seat model, if your seat is not split, just removing the 1 bolt located in the compartment will fix your problem...Good luck & ride hard!!!
What do I do if
Does it have a helmet lock? Does one key do everything? You can remove that lock cylinder, or your ignition switch cylinder and take it to a good locksmith to have a new key made. You may have to call ahead and see if they have Honda key blanks. If not, a blank can be gotten from your Honda dealer. Have them make spares while they are at it!
The bike sat up for
Hello,
Anytime a bike sits for an extended period of time, it is a good idea to drain all the fuel out of the system and add Sta-bil when filling up with fresh fuel. Also, the rings and seals need time to re-seat themselves. This could take, up to, three days.
You should do an oil and filter change.
After running a tank through, with the Sta-bil added, the system, buy a can of Sea Foam and add the recommended amount according to the directions.
This should clear up the issues you are having.
Hope this helps. If you find this information helpful, please vote on this post.

How do I get to
Remove the bolt at the back of the passenger seat, lift the back of the seat, and pull it off. Remove the bolt at the back of the driver seat, lift the back of the seat, and pull it toward the back of the seat. Remove the bolts on the battery cover, the battery cable bolts, and lift the battery straight up out of the battery box.
