You will want to remove the entire speedo and gauge assembly. This can be done by disconnecting the wires under the headlight housing, and unbolting the cluster for removal. After this you can take off the plastic shroud of the gauge cluster and you should be able to locate the locations where the light bulbs plug in from there.

the spark timing is electronic and there is no adjustment possible. the engine timings ok or it would not be running as it is . it might be running lean or rich ,has the exhaust been changed or modified ?,that could cause a miss

A side stand switch is just a spring-loaded, momentary switch. What you have to figure out on yours is if it's normally opened, or normally closed (in electrical terms). The best way is to use an Ohmmeter or a continuity tester. Remove the 2 wire leads from the switch, and hook the test leads to it. Pushing the plunger on the switch and watching the Ohmmeter gauge, or the continuity tester light, will tell you if it's normally open or close. What you need to do is to replicate the reading when the plunger is in the same position as when the sidestand is UP. The end results will be that (depending, again, if the switch is normally opened or closed) is that you need to either just disconnect the switch (having the 2 wire NOT make contact with each other), or connect the 2 wires so they stay in contact with each other (run a jumper wire between them, cut/strip/twist/solder the wires together, etc).

Hi, When you shift do you have high RPMs. Try lowering RPMs when you shift. Also you said it gets warm. Try using a different oil (heavier oil). Hope that helps.

There are a couple of things to check.Make sure the fuel is getting through the petcock.Check the fuel lines and make sure it clear.See if the fuel pump is getting power.Last check the fuel filter.

Carbs have a reservoir in the base that will last for a few miles before it is drained. So turning the fuel off doesn't starve the engine immediately. This is normal.

the chain adjustment wont help this shifting problem, sound like you bent or broke a fork in the ******. the only way to ell on this is to disassemble it.

have you checked the kill switch. It can be easy to knock this accidentally.

where are you based??

check the float bowl at carbureter and check the jets, seddiment in the float bowl is suspect.
