I think on the CTX models it is a fixed seat so you will have to find all the bolts and screws that hold it onto the bike frame. It isn't designed as a 'lift off' access seat. Most of the access to fuse panel, battery (Right side) and air filter (Left side) is through the side covers on the bike. These covers are held in place with a single bolt/screw and swing out and down to remove them.

Sounds like you have clogged or semi-clogged main jets in the carbs. You will have to remove the carbs and open them up to get to the jets. Remove the jets and clean them. Make sure you can see thru them before re-installing the jets.

How about the anti-theft system and immobilizer? Did you disconnect the battery recently?

You will want a 1/8 to 1/4 inch free-play at the perch on the handle bars.

hi not sure if its a old SOHC with the 900 upgrade or a very early DOHC 900 because 1980-1981 was a change over year when they did away with the SOHC 750 - 900 and brought out the DOHC 750 - 900 the main issue with the okd single overhead cam was the oil ways get blocked up and starve the cam of oil eventually the came will eat its way into the head normally the the end of the cams you might need to seek a new head or reconditioned one if you can find one the DOHC has the same issue just not as much good luck

Hi, you are smart to have checked the fuses. I would just start by replacing each bad light's bulb and determine if the light functions again. If this doesn't work, then you'd need a more detailed look at the wire that connect to each bulb. I was taught to screw in the adjustment until it runs rough, then back off until it smooths out then 1/4 more, with multiple carbs a synchronizer is required, fuel injection has none I know of.
