2006 Shadow Aero VT750: observed oil leak from
I think you are quite correct. The neoprene rubber oil seals like to be warm to grab the bearing properly.
Keep your eye on it though.
If your bike were a 1959 650cc Triumph Thunderbird, like mine, I would have said you have run out of oil!
Ride safely.
I am considering buying a
Knocks, Rattles, Whining, Clunks, and Grinding noises coming from the engine are not good signs.
Light Tapping noise could be a few things.
A dirty oil filter will cause the top end to make tapping sound until the oil warms up and, then the noise goes away, that might be why you didn't hear it, but she did at first.
If the valves/rockers continue to make noise, it probably just needs the valve clearance checked & adjusted. If they continue to make noise after this, then its a sign of wear to one or more of the valve componets.(rockers worn, lifters worn etc)
With only 18000 miles, its probably just dirty oil filter.
How to change rear tire on 2004 750 honda shadow
You do not have to remove the final drive , the wheel is resting on a spline shaft. Center stand the motorcycle or lift the rear wheel, remove the axle bolt, knock out the spacer, and slide the brake panel out of the way. Now the wheel is resting only on a splined shaft. Grab the wheel and gently slide it away from the final drive ( off the splined shaft ) and roll it out the back of the wheel well. When replacing the wheel be sure to get some MOLY60 paste from the Honda dealer and grease the spline before putting the wheel back on.
How to remove seat???
UNDO ALLEN HEAD BOLT ,ONE EITHER SIDE OF SEAT . ALLAN KEY IN TOOL KIT. ALSO YOU MAY NEED TO UNDO BOLT AT REAR OF PASSENGER SEAT (8m SPANNER IN KIT).
PULL MAIN SEAT BACK FROM UNDER FUEL TANK AND SEAT IS OF THE BIKE
2006 honda shadow aero 750 has no power at the
Try cleaning the two position switch. It's called the starter button. You push it in halfway and the headlight turns off to allow for more juice to go to the starter. Push it in all the way and it activates the starter solenoid. It is probably either dirty or broken.
Remove rear tire honda shadow
Center stand the bike or jack it up to get the rear wheel off the ground ,loosen the rear axel nut, take out the bolt, knock out the spacer on the brake
panel, unhook the brake cable , unbolt the bar going to the brake
panel, grab the wheel, and slide it sideways away from the final drive.
The wheel should slide right off the spline of the final drive and roll
out the back under the fender. If the wheel wont slide past the final
drive let the air out of the tire. Be sure to coat the spline of the
final drive with moly60 paste from your local Honda dealer when
reassembling.

Hi, it seems you have faulty clutch from the description you made concerning the grinding noise when you tried 2nd and 3rd gear which i thinks is as a result of the stuck and scratch you had on the speed bump. And if you try riding it in its present state, you will end up damaging the gear box...
Now if your engine stalls when you drop into 1st gear, with the clutch disengaged, then the clutch plates are stuck together. Normally in this case, before starting the engine, try putting the transmission in 2nd or 3rd gear (But you already have a problem doing that which is also as a result of the faulty clutch), pull the clutch in and roll the bike forward and backward a few times to free the stuck plates. Meanwhile fresh gasoline maybe all you need..
In summary, a clutch problem....
Bike runs when you pour
two things. could be that peacock is plugged or there is sometimes a vacumm on the peacock coming from the carbs that sucks the peacock open allowing fuel to flow from the tank. if that hose has a hole in it it will not open the peacock. hope this helps.

Check your oil level. Engine braking down a mountain side could be overloading the breather system, only because most people do not know there are pollution tubes under and behind the motor, in front of the rear wheel. They collect oil and crud from the engine blow by and recycle it through the carburetor intake. If they are full it collects in the bottom of the air box. This is probably causing the smoke and oil you describe. Place a pan under the tubes and pull the plugs out. All the oily crud should come out. Then put the plugs back in. Also check your air cleaner for oil saturation you may have to wipe out the bottom of the air box or even replace an air filter. Also check that a breather tube has not come off of the top of the motor. This could also cause the oil between the cylinders you describe.
I have a 2001 VT750
Hi and welcome to the site,
Initially, just to be sure, check with a continuity tester the fuses.
Offhand (depending on the version), check the connector going to the right hand switches. Of particular attention to the terminals of the black/white and black/green wires.
Good luck and thank you for asking.
Change rear brakes
that bike has drum brakes, you have to remove the rear wheel to get them out of the wheel. have you run out of adjustment if not just tighten the adjuster nut on the brake rod untill you have good brake pedel.
Front forks bent and frame a little twisted. with
Bent forks means replacing obviously.Twisted frame I am not sure it can be fixed, but if it can,$$$.The frame probably has to be replaced.I know it's not what you wanted to hear but...
Also,I would not even want to ride if I knew the frame was bent and not repaired because as you know, balance and stability are so important. It will affect the aerodynamics too.A Honda shop is obviously going to cost the most too,so call around to a couple of shops and get some price ranges. Also, any shop fixing any items, electronics,TV's,anything, mark up their parts which they order at least 20%,but will be included in the estimates you get.Sorry bro'.I saw a couple older ones of that when I was checking out cycletrader earlier.Good luck and ride on!

Make sure the kickstand is up before going into gear, it is like that for safety, she will shut down if it left down.
2004 honda aero, started bike,,
u will need to pull the case cover and see what damage u did, u MUST retrieve the boken piece. check the fuses but doubt u blew one, if u did don't reinstall it until u inspect the damage inside the cover
Turn key on and light comes on, press starter
You just have to track it down.
The starter switch is doing something, or you wouldn't see any dimming.
Apply power directly to the starter with a jumper cable from the (+) post to the starter. If the starter doesn't turn, have someone help you. have then put the one probe of a volt meter on the housing of the starter motor, and the other on the negative battery. If you measure more than 0.1V, you have a grounding problem.
If there is no grounding problem you are either mistaken that the starter is good, or mistaken that the battery is good.
If the starter turns fine, operate the solenoid manually, rather than using the start button. If the solenoid (which you called the magnetic starter switch) will not operate, since it is new there is a problem most likely with it's grounding. If it operated fine, you have a bad connection between the start button and the solenoid.
It does not take much resistance in the high-current part of the starter circuit [(+) to Solenoid to (+) terminal on the starter] to keep the starter from even turning the engine. 1 ohm will limit the current to 12 amps. 2 ohms lowers the available current to 6 amps, just a little more than the high beam light uses.
