Yes you did, floats are not closing needle valves.

Clean the connections on battery and starter. Make sure ground is clean on both ends.

Sandra, your fuse box is located under the right side cover(as you sit on the bike) directly behind the fuse box is where the flasher relay is located. I'll put a link so you can have the service manual if you don't have the original. your original would be located in the box, under the left side cover. start relay should be checked, if cables are loose or corroded they do not deliver enough power.if jumping the start relay will engage the starter replace the relay.

Spray WD-40 in the ignition switch and on the turn signal adapter. It works.
