1981 CB750 will not idle without choke
If you need to use choke and there has been a recent clean and/or rebuild. It would be a good idea to check the fuel mixture screw setting. It sounds like it is running a fuel/air mix that is too thin, (lean mixture).

Firing order on cb750 1974 honda
left coil feeds 1 and 4...right coil feeds 2 and 3...as long as you stick to this it doesn't matter which lead goes to which plug. Left coil will have one short lead and one long...short =1...long = 4. Right coil leads will be about even in length...doesn't matter which goes to 2 or 3.
It's a wasted spark system so plugs 1 and 4 fire together...2 and 3 fire together...only 1 cylinder in each pair will be compressed and ready to fire when the spark happens, the other will be empty and coming on to it's inlet stroke...

I'm having trouble get the intake runners back
do you mean the short rubber intake pipes between air box and carbs ? if so then number each one and make a note of angle they sit , remove them and put in hot water untill feel soft then fit back in , also loosen air box b4 this and they should be easier to push on , bit fiddly but should go on now ! If the pipes wont come off try a hair dryer ! P...

Won t start
You might want to think more along the lines of alternator, regulator and rectifier. You may also need to clean the carbs. When you buy a used motorbike (or car for that matter) you should always service it properly, you don't know how it was looked after before you got it. A service would make sure the air, fuel amd oil filters are actually doing their job.

I have a 82 honda cb750f. The bike runs fine with
Standard jets for the CB 750 are 120's, popping and kicking are usually due to running lean which is probably why it runs great with the choke on as that riches it up. I've run 115's with no problem but 100's??? Maybe was trying for better fuel mileage when gas was $4.50 a gallon?

Clutch noise on cb750
Sounds like possibly the clutch pressure plate retaining bolts have loosened off. If that's the problem, then you'll have to open the case and re torque the pressure plate. May as well inspect the plates and discs while you're there.

1974 honda cb550 will not run?
• The first thing to do with ANY engine that has sat for any longer
than a couple of months is to dump ALL the fuel in the tank and
carb(s). ALL OF IT !! You'll want to refill with some high priced fuel
that has fuel system cleaners (Like Chevron with Techron) not becasue
you need high-test fuel, but because you need the cleaners. It's ether
that or disassemble the carbs and clean out jets you can't find much
less see. Your choice. The carb kits alone will cost you about $50 so a
tank of high-test is looking pretty good, huh?
• Now the fact that you tried to crank the engine with old fuel has
fouled the sparkplugs. All of them. Go buy all new sparkplugs.
