My honda cb 750 when i hit the starter button it
The starter could be loose to the housing the solenoid could be loose as well you need to pull the starter off and look at the teeth on the starter gear and the flywheel and see if the teeth are broken also check that the shaft that holds the gear on the starter is not loose and the shaft is wobbling in the hole if it is you will need to replace the Bendix gear and spring and bushing let me know if you need more help. Thanks for using fix-ya.
Oil Leak
You can use thread tape on the bolt, or silicone it.
If it's on the jug itself, you can use JB underwater weld which is gas, oil proof and heat resistant and about $6 a tube.
Is the exhaust gasket leaking?
Have 1978 cb750,drops cylinders at 5 grand
Sounds like a Carb jetting problem. Does she have headers? or has she been sitting up for a while? Check on the web for sugestions, lots of Honda 750 sites out there. Lots of folk can set you up with carb jet #'s. to start with. If it has been setting up pull the carbs and clean them up get all the ports and small vents clean.
My honda cb750 motor wont start
Does It have sparks?
Take out one spark plug, put the cable on the cap, put the spark plug body agaist the engine block (attach It with something...DON'T take It with your hands!!) and try to start the engine.There must be a spark between the spark plug's electrodes every 2 or three pushes to the kickstart lever.
If It has spark, there is a problem with the gasoline not going into the cylinders (carburetors or fuel line clogged)
If It has no sparks, there is an electrical/ignition problem.
You don't specify which model It is....but this is a tip for motorcycles in general.
1979 cb750k limited not charging battery /
You need to check the voltage Reg/Rec to see if it went bad. If it is ok then check the stator. A quick way to see if it is charging is make sure the battery is fully charged and take a multi meter and set it on dc voltage. Start the bike and put probes on battery +and - terminals. It should read around 12.8 volts. Rev the motor and now it should read 13 to 14 volts.
This tells you that the stator is working correctly and putting out voltage. If the voltage jumps higher than 14 volts or doesn't jump at all then the Reg/Rec is bad.
I have a 1974 cb750 and one day i was riding and
Sounds like you had an exhaust valve tighten up, check them at TDC top dead center by removing the alternator cover derby, put the bike in neutral, turn the flywheel in correct direction (arrow on it) until the TDC marks for 1 and 3 are aligned, check ex valves .003" or if you can barely feel them move is how I adjust them. :) If you lose compression or fire on a cylinder it becomes an oil syphon that will cause blue smoke and backfire as you had. It could also be a set of points closed up or a bad capacitor on the points. Intake valves are .002" .
No headlights or tailights
Check the flasher - sounds like it is shot. (look under the seat) Also, check that you have the correct lamp in each socket and check that the lamps are not corroded.
Check your headlight (if you have not already) Same advice for the taillight ... are yo certain you have the correct lamp installed?
I hope this helps
750 K 1979 RUNS FINE QUARTER THROTTLE OVER THAT
Sounds like dirty carbs. Remove them, soak them in combustion cleaner - NOT carb cleaner.
I had the same problem on my 1982 Honda DL500. I just removed float bowls, left everything else intact and soaked then blew out gently with compressed air.
Combustion chamber cleaner is much more effective than carb cleaner.
Hope this helps!

Need engine torque specs for 1972 cb750 k2
Go to this site and you can download a free PDF service manual.
www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp Most all of the manuals are in English but some are not. There is no way to be sure without doing the download. You can always delete it if in a foreign language.
There are several CB750 manuals on the site. You don't need the exact same year as your bike. Torque is torque and doesn't change model to model or year to year.
There are 2 different types of rebuild kits. One
If you figure all you need is o-rings and gaskets go for it. But if you are having major carb problems like flooding and back firing, go with the one that carries such things as needle and seat valve etc.
Adjusting carbs
Sea Foam 1/3 can to two gallons of gas....it"ll take about 10 miles for it to work thought the system. dont adjust carb anymore.
1977 Honda CB750 Front Master Cylinder
Larry.. the symptoms you describe are exactly what would happens when your primary seal fails, the purpose of the primary seal is to generate and hold pressure, it is located just under the little hole in the reservoir and is a little rubber seal that pushes the fluid down the line and when it fails the fluid leaks by the seal making the brakes feel spongy... replace the seal and you should have your brakes back
Bake breaks keep on locking and not releasing
brake caliper is siezed from lack of use, will need caliper rebuild kit, but if you have to just wheel it around to tap the caliper with a hammer lightly it will loosen it up so it can be moved
Honda 1981 CB 750 - Battery keeps going dead.
Check for dead shorts by making sure all electrical components are in the off position. Remove the + battery lead. Slightly touch the lead to the + terminal on the battery in a sweeping pass by motion. If you see an electrical arch it is possible you have a bare wire or a compressed one shorting out your system. Start eliminating each component one at time to see what is causing the short. If you are a novice electrical engineer then you might think about contacting a real professional before you burn up the whole shebang.
My charging system hasn't worked correctly since
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
A couple of tests / checks:
- +12 on the red / white wire to the rectifier even with the ignition switch OFF;
- +12 on the black wire from the regulator and to the ignition switch only when the ignition switch is ON;
- green wires from regulator and rectifier goes to the body ground;
- connector terminals / pins of the 3 yellow wires from the alternator;
- high AC voltage (>15) on the white wire from the alternator with the engine running;
- 12.5 ~ 13.2 VDC on the battery terminal when idling;
- 14.5 + on the battery terminal @ 4000 RPM.
Postback results of tests.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
