Hey guys, for some reason I cant get my rotor off
Hi, sometimes you have to put tension on the puller, then give the end a few taps with a soft hammer, be careful not to damage the crank thread, otherwise you may have to heat the centre of the rotor, also, when you take the rotor bolt out, is there a larger thread on the inside of the hole in the rotor, this is where the puller goes on a lot of bikes, but has to be a specific bike puller, hope this helps :)
Fuel mixture 1998 ?
I think the official ratio is 32:1 but a range of 25:1 to 40:1 is acceptable. If you run it wide open and hard most of the time, use the 25:1 or higher oil mix. If you run it pretty easy, then you can go up to 40:1 or less oil.
Good Luck
I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SET THE FLOAT ON 1995 KDX
It gotta close the valve when the bowl is full. You can test by replacing the bowl in place and connecting the gas, if it does not overflow its good, it gotta let the gas enter the bowl till full and it will be correct. Its not a precision settings, just try and see...
We have an 1985 kdx 200 2 stroke and where do the
the floats may be damaged
try to level the floats with the base of the top part of the carby and see how you go .
you may have to try a few times until you get it right .
Check your needle point too as it may be stuck as well .
Cant keep idle at one rpm
Many times you may also have to adjust the throttle needle as well for altitude or just to get it to run right. It may be the throttle cable having problems too.
1998 kdx 200 clutch will not dis-engage
The clutch's plates must be stuck.Disassemble them and renew if necessary. The clutch lever should have 3mm freeplay and the spring's bolts should be tighten at 14Nm.
Clutch wont engage
It sounds like the clutch must be incorrectly assembled. No offense meant, is is easy to miss one little thing. Go to the site below and look at the clutch diagram. Note that the assembly begins and ends with a friction plate and that a metal pressure plate goes between each friction plate. You should have 7 metal pressure plates and 8 friction plates.
The clutch outer basket seldom goes bad unless hit with a hammer or a tree. Why did it need to be replaced? Did you compare the new OEM hub to the old one? They may have given you the wrong basket. The tighter the cable the less likely the clutch will engage. You should have 1/4" end play at the handlebar lever. By the way, exactly what oil did you put in the gearbox after replacing the clutch? Okay, this is a good start. Post a comment if you need to get back to me.

1998 kdx oil
Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives.
Use Two Stroke ENGINE oil in the pump. If not doing an automatic oil pump the mix the gas and oil 32 to 1. That equals 4 ounces of two stroke ENGINE oil to one gallon of gas. NEVER use motor oil in the gas. Only two stroke engine oil.

Kawasaki KDX 200 code year
Any Kawasaki dealer can look up the code and tell you what year and model your bike is. The parts department usually is the one with the codes. Give them a phone call. Once you know the year and model, the following site MIGHT have a free service manual
PDF download.
http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp Most manuals are in English but some are not. There is no way to be sure without doing the download. You can always delete it if in a foreign language. Another site is available for viewing only but is limited to parts diagrams w/ part numbers and prices.
Go to the site below and you can see the parts diagram. Yes, I know the link says Yamaha. You will select the brand, year, model, etc...

Bike wont start
sounds like carb issues, check fuel contamination and **** in carb first.
My 1991kdx 200 starts ******* around thru each gear when the revs
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).
Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.
Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Pay extra attention to the main jet. Remove the idle screw and the air screw on the outside throat of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well.

Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two screws down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each screw one and one half turns outward. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. If this doesn't fix the problem you may want to get a carb kit.
