Try cleaning it with a dry cloth and then fine sand paper, between the gap
Where should oil be in
you will see two lines at the top and bottom of the sight glass, oil needs to be between these lines with the bike held level, use motorcycle 4 stroke engine oil from a bike shop, car oils can make the clutch slip
Klx 110 backfires and cackles when i let off the
Check your ignition wire/boot for leakage; it sounds like that's your problem. An easy way to do this is run the engine at night with no lights on; if you see a miniature lightning show, you know there is leakage.
My bike was runnin perfect an it cut out when i
Lots of things can happen ( run out of fuel) overheat and ruin the engine. Yes the spark plug and the related ingtion. key on battery power, kill switch. wiring to the handlebar switches. Remove the plug and lay it on the heasd where you can see the tip with the wire connected and crank the engine and see if it sparks good ( it'll be bright and you can hear it too) if it does and theirs little or no deposit on the plug (you said it was running prefectly) Then move on to fuel, check to see if theres enough and that the valve is turned on. next if not found remove the fuel line for the carb. being careful as gas should come out but it might not as the filter in the valve on the tank may be stopped up or the vacume line connected to the intake side of the carb may have come off or off the fuel valve. Some fuel valves have a ( prime ) position and the fuel will come out anyway in this position and with it comnnect to the carb if it still doesn't run the problem can be in the carb. Before going into the carb you might check compression first. With the plug out put your finger or an compression gauge in the plug hole. The measured commpression should be over 100 PSI or blow your finger right off the hole. If this is in order then remove the air filter connection to the carb and squirt a little gas in the carb ( just a little) and crank it with the key on, it should start and die or even keep running, if it does put the air cleaner hose back on and if it contrinues to run, take it out and have fun.
The bike starts runs for about 5seconds then cuts
This sounds like a problem with the fuel system. You may try some carburetor cleaner but more than likely you will have to have the carburetor serviced. If the bike has been sitting a while this is probably the problem.
My klx110 when kickstarting feels
A 110 bike never feels like it has compression try kinking a KTM 550.
It'll buck you in the air if it has a missfire!!.
Jokeing aside you have a stuck reed valve on this two cycle.
When you kick the bike in gear the clutch makes it feel like it has compression
Oil comes out the crank case breather tube engine
IS THIS A 4 STROKE ENGINE? DID THE BIKE FALL OVER ON ITS SIDE FOR A LONG TIME? A PLUGED UP FILTER IN THE AIR FILTER BOX,OR A POSITIVE CRANKCASE VALVE PLUGGED UP? THE CRANKCASE VENTING,VAPORS NEED TO GO INTO THE AIR INTAKE AND BURNED IN THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER CYLINDER.
The cahin came off on my sons Kawasaki KLX 110,
loosing off the rear wheel spindle and adjusters push wheel forwards, re fit chain and pull wheel back wards using adjusters on each side of wheel ensuring they are even on both sides (count notches on each side) then tighten wheel spindle
Kick starter has no compression, will not shift
hi, will the shift lever shift up when the bike is being pushed along, is it stuck in neutral, if its in neutral then push it down make sure it goes into 1st gear then can u get someone to push u whilst holding the clutch in then release the clutch and see if you can jump start the bike that way.
when you push the kick start down is it turning the engine over properly and if so if the compression is really to low then the chances are the piston ring has broke and scored the side of the cylinder if this is the case then you need to get new piston and rings and a new cylinder.
The problem with moto x bikes is they are high power and work at really high temp so parts need changing more often the piston rings need changing every 25 to 35 hours of riding time you need to do this as they ware and brake if used any longer.
you also need to make sure you get the petrol and oil mixture spot on as if its not getting enough oil it will blow the piston and rings so you need to measure exactly the correct mixture.
these bike are expensive to maintain and need new parts on a regular basis so remember this the next time you get the bike running
Atv getting too much air
Are you sure it's too much air and not too much/little gas? If you're sure it's air and there are no leaks in the carb boot, manifold, or gaskets, then adjust the air screw on the side of the carb. Turning it in reduces the volume and out increases it. Do it in SMALL increments of about 1/8 of a turn and blip the throttle. You'll start to see the difference at a certain point if in fact it's an air issue. If you haven't already done so, check the carb boot (connection between the carb and manifold) for tears or small cracks before adjusting the air screw. I've seen quite a few people mess with the air screw for hours with no change in how it runs only to find out they had a leak in the carb boot. (Kids can be rough on them!)
Hi there any help would be much help. Thanks
Is the spark plug too wet?
Probably theres too much fuel going into the combustion chamber, try to reduce the amount of fuel in the float chamber by first closing the petcock at the tank thn open up the fuel outlet screw at around the carburator float, just a little, close it up, remove the spark plug and clean it dry, refit it and try to start the engine..., adjust the idling screw a little inwards to increase the idling ..thn open up the petcock and observe the running of the engine ..if it starts to puut ..puut thn its for sure there is more fuel going in thn required ..you may hve to adjust the float.
Not bad to check if the carburator at the intake mounting is fitted right wth no air going through inbetween the carb and the intake mounting.
Hope this helps!
