Starter turns but does not crANK ENGINE
Check the left side cover and make sure the starer clutch hasn't come loose from the shaft. Sometimes Suzukis will do that. If this is the case, don't just retighten the clutch. Take a center punch and put a few dots on the tapered mating surfaces . Add a LITTLE red locktite and retorque.

Clutch cable adjust
there is adjust positions both ends of the cable.If the cable is old it may not return properly causing clutch slip. could be worth replacing cable
