2000 Suzuki GSX-R 750 Questions & Answers
This relates to a 1992 gsxr1100 (1127
I don't believe that the older gsxr models had a tip over switch. I'm pretty sure what you are seeing is the main circuit breaker. Basically if your bike starts and runs the breaker is working fine. If the breaker was tripped your bike would act like the key is off.
Gsxr 750 shoots flames
If the bike was running correctly when it was put in storage two years ago, I would start with the easy things first: As the previous poster suggested, install new, correctly gapped plugs, along with a new battery. Your bike uses an electronic ignition system, and it will not opporate correctly if you have a bad battery. The bike will miss, pop, and backfire, because there is not enough electrical power in storage (battery) to properly run the ignition system.
If these two things do not get the bike running correctly you will need to look at the carbs. Was the bike stored with fuel in the tank and carbs? If so, this is the most likely reason for the bike not wanting to run correctly. Flames from the exhaust are an indication of a very rich fuel/air mixture (a float could be stuck open (it can also be caused by the ignition not working properly and allowing unburnt fuel into the exhaust system)). Cleaning and reassembling mulitple carborators is not that difficult if you are careful and reasonably handy, but tuning them properly can be very difficult. You can save a lot of money if you rebuild them yourself, then take the bike to the shop to be tuned (The standard service rate these days is around $75 an hour)
Theres water in the oil
Beings your bike is liquid cooled, is the "water" coolant?
If so bad head gasket, cracked head, or cracked cylinders.
Injectors not shooting gas in thottle bodies
There could be many reasons for this, some simple, some not so simple, so you will need to start by eliminating simple things first. The first thing to check is the battery. Is it fully charged and in good enough shape to supply the electrical load needed to make the bike run correctly (bikes with electronic ignition and fuel injection must have a good battery for the bike to run properly)?Next, take a look at your owners manual and find out if there is a fuse for the fuel injection system. If there is, is it good? When you insert the key and turn the ignition on can you hear the fuel pump? If not, you fuel pump is either dead or not getting power for one reason or another. Many cars are equiped with a safety switch which automaticly turns off the fuel pump in the event of an accident. These can be reset by simply pushing a button. Is your bike equipped with something similar? When was the last time the bike was running? The gas sold today is notorious for not being stable for very long. If everything else on the bike checks out ok, there is a remote chance your injectors are clogged with bad fuel.
F1 Flash on dashboard
put it in dealer mode... with key off, take off seat, find the white plug with a cover on it. take off the cover and using a paperclip jump the white and black wire in the slots, theyre at the top of the plug. turn the key on and turn the red ignition switch on. It will now display what the code is. just google the code that it displays
A friend of mine is
advanced auto has them and also napa dont know what parts stores you have but walmart also has batteries that are universal
THE BIKE WONT KEEP A
Remove the seat to access the battery.
A loose battery connection will prevent charging, Tighten if loose.
If tight, start the bike.
Use a multimeter set on d/c volts or just a volt meter.
Hook red to positive and black to negative.
should read 12.50 volts - 13.50 volts at idle.
Anything under 12.50 means not charging at idle.
Rev motor to 2000 rpm. the meter should read 13.50 - 14.8. If the volts do not change, then your bike is not charging, Anything Higher than 15.0 means that your bike is overcharging, which usully fries the battery and blows the headlight fuse and/or main fuse.
If over/undercharging, this means that the voltage regulator is bad.
Before you buy another one, make sure the one you have is plugged in all the way and that the connectors are clean.
I had a GSXR 750 that sat for a while and i had to clean every connector on the bike before it would run/operate like it should, so a dirty or loose connection should be checked first.
Saves you a lot of money too because voltage regulators are usually over $100.
If you do not ride for months at a time, your battery will discharge over time.
a battery tender or battery charger is needed to keep the battery charged when the bike is not in use. Motorcycle batteries are not like car batteries, that seem to last forever. 4-5 years is about all you'll get out of a motorcycle battery on a motorcycle that is ridden alot.
On a motorcycle that is barely ridden, won't last much more than 2 years if your lucky.

I have a 1999 gsxr 750 the temp works then goes
I had the same bike, there is a fuel sensor under the tank, they tend to go bad sometimes. As for the temperature issue, I'm not sure why it would go blank? I had the same bike, loved it.
How do I install a cdi box on suzuki motorcycle
The CDI box is located under the rear passenger seat. It will be a one or two plug connection and it will come right over, and you can install a different one the same way. If you are asking about something such as a Power Commander... those will not work as your motorcycle is not fuel injected.
What would cause my 2000 gxsr 750 to shut down
Your battery has gone flat due to non charging by alternator.
Or it could be a bad or connection on power circuit, check main fuses etc, find out where power is going.

Can i tell from engine number what year & CC
the tenth digit in your vin# is the year.
so your 2000 should be a Y.
1998 W

2000 Y
2001 1
2002 2
At the bottom of the Cylinder you'll see a the number which indicates the size.
for example the bottom of the cylinder reads 248 means its a 250
Bottom of the cylinder is the bottom of the jug,
The numbers will either be on the left or right side, not the front or back of the jug.
What type and weight oil do I need for my 2000
Any oil that is JASO MA certified motorcycle oil . 10w-40 for cold climates and 20w-50 for long trips and warmer climates. Do not use any oil that says Energy Conserving on the label. It will shorten the life of your wet clutch and transmission gears. Synthetic oil will help your bike run cooler and shift easier.
