2001 Suzuki VZ 800 Marauder - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Turns over but wont start
It appears the carbs may have a small fuel leak and dry out over a 24 hr period , check for a external leak, also check the main jets are tight and leak free.
Missing & popping
either a stuck valve (unlikely) or more than likely someone let the bike set up too long with old gas in carbs....If that is the case the low speed jets have to be removed out of the carbs & cleaned...
When key is in the start Position on a 2001 Suzuki
your bike is a grey import with us spec'son the European bikes the bikes have a on/off switch for the lightson USA spec bikes they come on with the ignitionyou may also have a red light that comes on on your dash when you go over 80mphyour rear indicators are not meant to be onhard work to change this about and and is not for the faint heartedunless you are a very competent person who knows whatthey are doing leave it rule of thumb is if it works dont fix itit is ok for the European specs
I have a 2001 suzuki marauder 800 that just had cobra exhaust installed. what size jets should i put in it?
I purchased this kit for a 2003 Suzuki Marauder 800. Much to my disappointment, it did not come with any new jets. All it does is basically shim the needle valve using a washer. This is something you could do on your own. Just take the old washer and move it up 1-3 spaces depending on your elevation. Although this does come with new needles and washers, you could just use your old ones and acheive the same thing. It does include the tools to remove the plug for the pilot screw but again, you could probably do this with tools you already have. I am very disappointed i spent so much money on this.
