Bike keeps jumping out of gear
Either your gear selector adjustment needs to be re-set (right hand side of motor inside the clutch cover, there is a hook and claw mechinism that can be fine-tuned) or the gear selector drum stopper is badly worn and will need replacing (experts only, as this requires a total engine strip down).
My rm 125 is jumping out of gear?
Do you "kick shift" a lot? (shift at high rpm without the clutch) or did the gear box run low on oil at any point that you know of? If so the syncros in the gear box may be worn. Probably not a do it yourself fix, unless you are familiar with this.
Good luck. Please rate, thanks.
After changing the sparkplug for the wrong one my
you can but its not begginer type of stuff if the plug was the wrong heat range you more than likley got it to hotttttttttttttttttttt your going to have to replace the crank, rod, piston/rings. ect try hotrodsproducts.com and jepistons.com its not very hard but be sure to break the motor in and use the right spark plug.

I have a problem with my 1977 rm125 i think it is
the shifter is connected to a shift drum that is in side the case witch when the shifter is moved it moves the shifting drum and then inturn moves shifting forks that slide the gears in and out. what happens is the shifting forks get worn and also the shifting drums journals also do also and will cause it to not shift or pop out of gears while riding. so a transmission will need to be serviced and inorder to do that is to split the case witch requires a complete engine tear down. it may not be cost effective to repair this one because it is so old and a replacement used motor from a salvage yard or ebay maybe better.
please ask any more question you have and if you do deside to do the work get your self a manual because it is envolved.
I have a four stroke
The float is the only part that can cause this problem. Most likely its gummed up and needs to be cleaned. Also the jets should be blown out.
make sure the needle seat is clean when you do this. Its an easy job and don't be intimadated.
Get some brake cleaner and go to town.
Battery over charge
check/ change the regulator on it also check the rectifier in the charging circuit
Is there a difference in what oil you put in the
Yes, and the two are completely unrelated. In the crankcase, which on your bike is actually just the gearbox, you can use any high quality motor oil (same as what is used in the crankcase of a four cycle engine). As for the oil that you pre-mix with the fuel, again use any high quality two cycle engine oil and mix according to the oil manufacturer's recommendation.
1983 suzuki rm 80 clutch cable problem. . . .
Hi, sounds like the friction & metal plates in the clutch are stuck together. Has the bike sat for a while? If so, the clutch might free up if you get it started, roll along and put it in first, then get through to 4-5 gear, and holding the clutch in, accelerate & back off the throttle. Sometimes this will free them up, but careful to do it somewhere large enough. If the right type & amount of oil are in the gearbox (4 stroke car or bike engine oil that doesn't have friction modifiers in it), take the oil fill plug out 7 use a light to look at the ckutch basket. If you can see it, you should be able to pull the lever and see the pressure plate move outwards slightly. Good glycol coolant should do the job, straight coolant should be fine around 500ml. Hope this helps :)
1978 suzuki dr 370 motorcyle just started having a
The popping noise is gear dogs trying to engage a gear. You did not say that the bike doesn't shift smoothly so I would tend to rule out a bent shift fork. The neutral stopper pin may be worn or the stopper spring or other springs may be broken (see diagram). Another possibility is a broken stationary gear circlip which would let the gear wander a bit on the shaft. most the parts are available at Babbitt's. Go to
