It has a slight knock that just started today is

If you noticed a knock that wasnt there before, something has changed, more oil wont help, time to pull the head and barrel off and start measuring and inspecting, if it gets worse and snaps the skirt of a piston it will cause more damage

My 1989 rm 250 has just had a rebuild and is

If you are referring to the power band, this is when your reed valves open.Check for cracked or damaged reeds. You need to remove carb and reeds are between carb and cylender.Check also the rubber boot that carb attaches to for cracks.this will cause intake air leak and cause reeds to not open properly.

How do i check the transmission oil levl in my

The engine and the trans do NOT use the same oil. The engine oil is premixed with the fuel. The transmission oil is filled with the filler plug on the right side of the engine case. Look under the kick stand, see the 850 ml marking? The trans holds that much oil. Either drain the oil and add that exact amount.... OR you can take out the check screw located lower and forward of the oil fill on the case, should look just like a case bolt, but with an aluminum washer to seal it. Once you remove this bolt/plug you can add oil till the oil flow out this hole.

Hi i have a 2003 rm250 and my clutch isnt working

Have you adjusted it at all? does it make a funny noise when you hold clutch in?

.p.s. you really shouldn't be stopping in gear and holding in the clutch very long anyway--always best to neutral it when stopped unless you're about to begin a race or something

Correct quantity(ml) of oil per front shock(fork)

110mm oil height in each fork tube. Remember to bleed it first to ensure all air is out the inner chamber and then measure 110mm from the top of the tube, fully compressed with no spring or damping rod inside. USe a 5W fork oil. You can also look at WWW.RACETECH.com under search, and then valving search, enter all your relevant details and bike model and it calculates it for you.

I have white oil dripping out of my 2001 rm250..

White oil is normally an indication of a leaking waterpump seal.
You would need to repalce the waterpump seal which can be a challinging task unless you are mechanically adept. You would also need a manual showing the procedure.

I got a 03 rm 250 and it smokes to wear there is

Find out what the oil to gas ratio is.sounds to me like your running to rich.If your oil to gas is correct then the next thing to do is a compression check.this will tell you if you need a piston and rings.the oil on feder is blow by which is caused by too much oil or bad rings.thats about all i can tell you from description.

Hi ive got a 2003 rm 250 ive just changed the

I would suggest doing a compression check and checking the results against your manual (should be at least 165PSI or so. Low compression will make the bike run rich which would make it smoke excessively. It would also make it hard to start and run poorly with low power. New rings could do wonders.

I have a 1998 rmx 250 and have water in the gear

If this is the four stroke version, the most likely cause for water in the oil would be a blown cylinder head gasket. Unfortunately the only repair in that case is a head skim and gasket replacement.

I just bought an 03

Is this bike a two stroke or four stroke.Meaning do you mix oil n gas,or dose it run on straight gas .If this a two stroke, its normal to blow blue smoke, but not that bad.Sounds like the person before you put to much oil in gas or piston rings are shot. There are exact oil to gas ratios you must follow with a two stroke engine. If you dont, you can have all kinds of problems.
