Suzuki burgman 650 won,t change gear

I had the same problem until I found out that when you put the Burgman on it's center stand, it pushes a small round metal pin (spring loaded or something similar) that limits the Burgman to 1st gear only. Some kind of safety feature, I guess. You can see the little switch if you put the bike on it's side-stand, get down on the right hand of the bike and look where the centre stand meets with the body of the bike. My switch was stuck in permanent "on" so I just pulled the pin to it's full extention with a pair of pliars, then cut it with a junior hacksaw.

When i decel it seems I have a engine brake on or in a lower gear how do I fix this

The 650 Burgman has similar engine braking to a normal motorcycle so doesn't allow you to coast as with the smaller engined models. This allows greater control in deceleration, especially in the wet. The coasting on the smaller models can be disconcerting for some, where brakes have to be used to slow down, so make the most of the 650 capability. The 650 will coast eventually at speeds of less than slow walking pace. From what you say consoder this as normal behaviour from the engine. Take care.

Two Suzuki Burgmans Transmission failures...

A trained Suzuki technician should know how to dismantle the transmission. If he has to pull things a part to see what is wrong you might need to pay for this to get a proper quote. If the Technician is good he will leave it apart in case you want to go ahead, the original quote should then be absorbed into the bill if you do go ahead. If the Suzuki Tech is not trained then go somewhere else to find one that is. Suzuki Burgman is a tough little scooter, I know of one that has done a ride around the world and had only a battery and tyre problem, it had 20,000Km's on it before he left on the trip.

My suzuki burgman 650 will not go into gear

Most likely, the switch for the centerstand is stuck in the depressed position, a relatively common situation. The centerstand switch, which is exposed to road debris underneath the bike, often accumulates grime and periodically needs to be cleaned. The centerstand switch's purpose is to prevent damage to the CVT when the bike is on the centerstand, and thereby has no rotational resistance. When the centerstand switch is "stuck", the ECU thinks the bike is still on the centerstand and prevents the CVT from shifting up to a higher gear.

Hi, need to know how to check transmission fluid

I could write down the chapter in the service manual for you and soon you would be lost, or, you could go to YouTube and search "Burgman 650 Transmission Oil Change" and see how the pros do it. I reccomend adding it to your favorites list as it is not done very often and a refresher is good for the second time you do it. Change the oil and filter plus the rear drive oil while you have the covers off.

It sounds silly, but check the tires. Then the bushings in the swing arm. It would be good to give the bike a good nose to toes going over to check on the bolt torque specs. It is time to anyway.

I have a 2007 burgman 650 would like to transfer

I put a rear brake pedal on the floor for a handicaped veteran who needed the left side brake moved, but I cannot find any reference to a conversion like that. ....But nothing is impossable, You will need to fabricate the parts yourself and this is no easy task. I would reccomend taking the bike to a company that specilizes in handicap conversion vehicles.

How do I remove the

You do not have to remove the seat. You will have to remove the covers on the "hump" to get to where you need to be. Not a big deal there. I reccomend going to YouTube and typing "Oil change Burgman 650". You will see several different vidios on how to perform the procedure and the supplies that will be needed. I also reccomend purchacing a Suzuki oil filter removal tool. It is well worth the six bucks to speed things up and prevent a OOPS that could cost you a lot of time and clean-up.

What is the yellow button

There are two yellow buttons on the left side. The front side is a "Flash to pass" that is a momentary switch connected to the high beam side of the headlights. The other on the lower side facing the rider is a transmission shift selector. You press this this selector button to run in the full automatic mode where the bike changes gears automaticly or press the button again to be able to shift the gears up and down with the rocker switch located on the upper left side of the control. With practice you can shift smoothly and get better milage when shifting manualy. Your gear indicator under the spedometer should show what mode or gear you are in. Don't worry about downshifting. The bike will do that for you. If you need more power you can press the bottom side of the shifting toggle to shift one gear lower each time you press it.

A word of caution... This bike is more powerfull and responcive than just about any bike the same size and many other larger bikes. You do not have much time on one if you are asking this type of question. Take the bike out when traffic is not heavy and learn how to control it. There is a difference in riding a weak pony and a wild horse. Stay away from the POWER button until you are ready for flight.... and HANG ON !!!

To reset the Oil Change reminder on the dash start the bike while holding down the 'Select' button on the dash display.-----------The engine starter will not engage.I agree its not starter problem. But starter not engaging is problem.Get the starter voltage checked. The starter solenoid should engage. If its not engaging, then there must be short in any wire or any of the ground connection getting hot/ burned. Also disconnect and reconnect negative battery terminal for 30 minutes then reconnect and see. This resets the internal system.------- Check out, this will help.Keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.

Sounds like a safety switch .I would start with kickstand.there is a switch on kickstand make sure wire is connected to switch and push switch by hand to activate.Could be hung up or gone bad.Try also lubricating kill switch on handle bars they are known for not making contact and will keep engine from starting.
