1997 yamaha xj600 wont spark

Spark plugs. Or the coils. Just because there is power going to them doesn't mean they are working. But as they are fired by the CDI unit you might like to look there. Mine was a failed coil. If the problem is on both coils, it can only be the CDI.

How much fork oil do

I don't remember the quantity but if you go to Yamaha Auth. service center they have a small plastic box of fork oil labelled as Geniune Yamaha Suspension oil and the whole box is poured in one fork. So you will need 2 such boxes if you are servicing both the forks.

I need main jet size

Hello
The main jet size should be 2 wire drill sizes larger (measure to the closest wire drill size as a starting point) to start for a 4 into 1 exhaust system, There is no one size fits all, you start with drilling it out the 2 wire drill sizes (set is 1-60) and see how it runs. Do not go more than 2 drill sizes larger as a base line. I have done this on at least 5 of my Japanese bikes.

Hi i have a yamaha

If the clutch is working as it should, the shifting problem is unrelated to the clutch. The bike has a bent shift fork or two. It is costly to fix. Below is a diagram of how the shift drum moves slider gears to change gears. If a shift fork is bent, it doesn't move left and right freely. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_79.gif

100 mm is 4 inches out of line....thats severe.
Is this a chain drive bike...if so the swingarm slots the axle runs through often have marks so the axle is even on both sides.

1993 yamaha xj600. i hook

You could be correct. Check the resistance of the stator coils, 3 wires. They should be less than an ohm. If this is correct check the diodepack/regulator. That is about it, nothing else there.

Can you please give advise

Have you checked your altenator? With a fresh battery it will run for a while but if your altenator dosnt work your battery will drain and bike will die. Also the bike is not made to run on a battery so if the altenator is weak or or bad you are not getting enough juice to your plugs , thus causing sluggish ride.
