Hi i brought this bike in the summer and its never run right, its fine on tick over but when the revs get up it starts jumping like its lacking fuel, ive cleaned all the jets but it didnt help, it has

Hi... if you have vacuum cabs... Have you checked to see if the vacuum on the fuel tap is working correctly.. Take the fuel pipe of the carbs, put the fuel tap to on.. If its a vacuum tap there should be no fuel coming out. Put the pipe in your mouth and suck on the pipe, if fuel comes out then stops it seems to be working. Also check the diaphragms in the top of the carbs are not split or have any pin holes in them. You can do this but holding the diaphragm up to the light.. (If they are vacuum carbs).. You can aso check to see if the carb rubbers are leaking between the carbs and the engine.. You can do this by starting the bike up and leave it ticking over. Get some carb cleaner or WD40 and spray it onto the rubbers between the carbs and engine. If the engine pics up speed (revs go higher) then the rubbers need to be changed.. Hope this helps you out...Good luck.. Tony.

1995 fzr 600 spits and sputters

Personally, I would go back to the stock jets, stock air cleaner and stock exhaust then get the carbs balanced and synchronized. Aftermarket stuff is usually flashy and sounds like a good thing.. Sometimes it is but sometimes it ain't. Sometimes one add-on interferes with another. Put some faith in the guys who designed the engine in the first place. Go back to stock equipment and settings and see if the problem disappears.

Keep the cool aftermarket product stickers on the bike. No one will ever know.

Please rate my solution a " FixYa " if all goes well. Thanks!

My FZR 600 is acting up and backfires

I have had several bikes in my time. and keeping the carbs syncranized is very important. Did you put aftermarket pipes on it? try rejeting the carbs up 2+mm that may help the fuel air ratio?

My 1993 FZR 600 doesnt want to go into the 9,000 rpm range.

A stage three would help,,,,,, but it can be a can of worms that really takes a GOD(that was a typo I meant good, but it fits) mech to setup. That aside they usually work fine as per the default instructions. Use the moderate settings, if you go for the high performance modded engine it wont run very good and will get **** mileage and it will have less horsepower.

Question about motorcycle

Hi christina

They did build a XJ550 (in line 4, not V) in the early eighties, But that's the only road bike 550 that yamaha made. Check it out here.

Hope that helps solve your puzzle :)

1997 yamaha xj600 wont spark

Spark plugs. Or the coils. Just because there is power going to them doesn't mean they are working. But as they are fired by the CDI unit you might like to look there. Mine was a failed coil. If the problem is on both coils, it can only be the CDI.

How much fork oil do

I don't remember the quantity but if you go to Yamaha Auth. service center they have a small plastic box of fork oil labelled as Geniune Yamaha Suspension oil and the whole box is poured in one fork. So you will need 2 such boxes if you are servicing both the forks.

I need main jet size

Hello
The main jet size should be 2 wire drill sizes larger (measure to the closest wire drill size as a starting point) to start for a 4 into 1 exhaust system, There is no one size fits all, you start with drilling it out the 2 wire drill sizes (set is 1-60) and see how it runs. Do not go more than 2 drill sizes larger as a base line. I have done this on at least 5 of my Japanese bikes.

Hi i have a yamaha

If the clutch is working as it should, the shifting problem is unrelated to the clutch. The bike has a bent shift fork or two. It is costly to fix. Below is a diagram of how the shift drum moves slider gears to change gears. If a shift fork is bent, it doesn't move left and right freely. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_79.gif

1993 yamaha xj600. i hook

You could be correct. Check the resistance of the stator coils, 3 wires. They should be less than an ohm. If this is correct check the diodepack/regulator. That is about it, nothing else there.
