Yz 250 wont kick start
Hi andersondts.
To get you right there i believe it should read as 'jump' start and not 'bump' start ...:-)
Well the problem could be with the battery, is it a maintenance free (dry) or is it a wet 0ne (uses sulphuric acid specific gravity 1250).
( 1) How old is the battery?
( 2) If its a wet one ,check the specific gravity of the acid in it, if its low thn charge it.You may hve to add or top up to its required level , if so thn use distilled water only !
( 3) If the battery is more thn 17months old ...replace it.
( 4) Its not bad to get the charging rate of your bike to make sure that it is working properly as required.
I hope this will help.
GOOD -LUCK.
Knight.
I have a dt 125 and the clutch will not pull in at
first check cable operation by disconnecting from clutch arm to ensure free movement of cable.if its not moving spray some crc down the cable from clutch handle end.if moving freely it will be internal so take it to a workshop
Yamaha motorcycle wiring?
Go to this site. http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle_manuals.html . Look for Yamaha_TRZ125(87-93)_DT125R(88-02). It takes a while to load up so be patient. You will have to identify yourself as a human and then you can download the whole workshop manual.
Hi my horn, brakelight and indicators will not
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
The horn, brakelight and indicators all get power from the battery through a red wire, a fuse and another red wire. Do a backtrace using a testlight (instead of a voltmeter). Should you be interested, the wiring diagram of a Yamaha DT50MX maybe viewed
here.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
1981 yamha dt175h runs at 10,000 rpm wont idle down
It sounds like you have a major vacuum leak my friend. If this is the case then it is also running lean and therefore craving fuel thus jumping up the revs by itself. if this has been doing this for a while (more than 5 hours of running time) then pull out the spark plugs and look at them they may have whitish little deposits on them. or may even be red in color. this is a sure sign of lean running. check all plugs to see if its only a few or all.
Now the hunt will begin to find the cause of this problem check all rubber hoses and fittings also check carbs themselves for damage, wrecked seals, or leaks that are visible. Then do a compression test to check the valves. after that if you still have the same problem then get some advice on your particular model.
If the plugs look normal run it for a few minutes and see if it running really hot, this is also a sign of lean running. if not then check the timing of the engine and float levels on the carbs.
My Yamaha DT125 won't start
The first thing to do is verify you have spark and fuel, there are many-many things that can cause this problem. No-one cawithout knowing these 2 items first...n say
Super jog 90 idles but dies when turning eccelerator
i sounds like when you sit on your bike your traping a fule line and stoping it getting fule as for it not reving up thats also short of fule it could be a blocked pipe or a blocked jet in the carb as you say it starts ok if you hold your hand over the carb this is the choke not working but as soon as its warmed up it dont need a choke, so its back to the carb jets blocked or fule shortage, also look at the air filter is it clean also cheak the exhaust pipe,,,if its slightly blocked it wont go very well, if at all,,,
Where do the hoses go to and from
If the hoses are anti-freeze, take the bottom out put hose from engine to the top of radiator then bottom of ratiator to top of engine
