Dt 230 low on power.bike gets half revs then runs
Hi there, you likely still have the restrictor in the exhaust header. Mine was the same, they are shipped like that as standard. Take the exhaust off the engine and remove the the concentric tube that's in there (you need to cut it out). Instant +100% power, if that is your problem.

Usually this is caused by the air/fuel mixture not being optimal. Try adjusting the carburetor.

If that does not work, check the spark plugs, they may be fouled.

Got water and steam coming out of over flow pipe
Clean out your cooling system, flush it and make sure the radiator is not clogged. You could be overheating due to a clogged up radiator. If you put your hand on the radiator, it should be the same temperature all around. If clogged up it will be colder in the middle and very hot where the water comes in from the engine. CAUTION not to burn yourself, use of IR thermometer recommended.
If that's not it, then check your head gaskets.

yer change ya gear box oil and get all the old fuel out. just basicly anything you can clean or change do it!!! air filter,oil filter,water,spark plug and so on...and when you first start it let it warm up for bout 5 mins but no longer.
Can i put 2002 yamaha dtr engine 125cc in a 1995 dtr 125cc bike?
well at first in wont fit because the cooling (LC) system will not fit the 02, but with a little welding and some alum works, you will be able to fit it.
the only difference will be the placing of the mount, weld holes and drill holes on the frame, but before you do so, remove all electric components from the frame.

Cogs in a gear box
hi karen, that is right, i do have a DT 125 myself and same thing has to be done.
Usually this is balance the engine so that the moving parts will move to a limited place. this is also to avoid further block damage when the piston is moving up and down.
Idling the bike,wont hold an idle
It sounds as if you have dirt in your fuel line or some bad gas.
I would recommend draining your tank and cleaning it, then replace your fuel filter.
All indicators flash at same time

Little brass flat head ***** on card 1/2 turns the other ***** with the spring on is 3 and half turns make sure you ***** them both all the way in then do the turns like I said hope it helps
What is the piston clearance

Yes the piston to wall clearance is .002" - 0025". (.05mm - .06mm)Measure your piston about .390'' (10mm) from the bottom of the skirt 90* opposite the pin holes (front to back).
My dt wont stat in gear with the clutch engaged?
All the Japanese bikes I have owned won't start in gear unless you pull in the clutch lever. There is a small plunger switch fixed to the clutch lever stock (the part that does not move). This switch is connected to the ignition and starter circuits, so when the clutch lever is closed the starter won't turn. Check the bike starts OK when not in gear. If you try to start the bike in gear and it does not start with the clutch lever pulled then the switch is not working. Hope this helps.
