Where is the Loose ground wire on the frame
Loose ground wires can cause all kinds of problems, and since ground wires are located in multiple locations specific to each model, each wire must be checked to assure connection.
If you have a starter problem, check the positive connection to the starter as well.
Remove seat and side covers and look closely at the frame to find black and/or black with another color attached to the frame. Remove, clean and reinstall each connection. Paint, rust and other corrosion can degrade connections. Also check your wires for corrosion, especially the battery wires.

My 2002 yamaha vstar 1100
The one way clutch inside the motor is slipping. On the back side flywheel is a one way clutch that grabs the starter gear when the starter motor spins. It is designed to let go of the gear once the motor fires up. If the mating surface of the one way clutch and the starter gear becomes rough or chattered, it will no longer grab and turn the motor over. To repair this you will have to take off the crankcase cover and pull off the fly wheel to replace the one way clutch and the starter gear.
How to change spark plug on a V star 2002
Remove plastic covers from the heads (front on left side of bike, rear on right side). Use the spark plug wrench that came with the bike in the toolkit. You do not need to remove the seat.

Checking charging system
Check the acid level in the battery. After a season running in hot weather, wet-plate batteries have often lost some water to evaporation. I see this often here in Texas. The new charge won't hold and electrical gremlins pop up often.
Also check for loose or corroded connectors on battery terminals and starter relay.
Location of spark plugs
In the heads..(just kidding) . you may have to remove the gas tank... follow the spark plug wires to the general area.
