Hi, l have a dragstar classic 1100 and have taken off and stripped down the wheels and forks for powder coating.l dident notice when stripping down the front wheel that on one side the cosmetic cover

I can't say for sure but I would say it would be the opposite side to the disc to balance it out.saying that I have seen alot of wheels and never seen one like that, providing it is balanced it should not start handling like a Harley ,anyway it will always go better.;0)

start with checking your fuses, if all three running lights are not working (front two and rear running/brake) then it should be power related. if your fuse is ok check you bulbs, it's ez and quick.
if you haven't found your power it's time to get out the test light. Start at the fuse block and work way to the lights when loss power you found your problem. If your fuse is blown we now that something made it blow, replace the bulb (if one is blown) and turn on the bike with a new fuse, if blows test for ground on the power wire this the bike off. a multimeter on the ohm setting is the easiest way to do this. now this can take a bit it there is a short in the wire take your time and you'll do fine.

My xv 1100 smokes and fouls plug when it has right

If the oil level is correct, about the only thing remaining is worn rings. You can try another brand of oil and use a heavier oil, but it will always come back to the rings having to be changed in the end.

I have a 1998 1100

It should be grounded through the same plug as the power comes through.Power goes in,across the bulb, out the ground to wherever or whatever it is actually grounded to.Is this an intermittent problem? If it is,just kind of gently pull on the wires leading to the plug, about 6 inches away if it is accessible enough, and turn the wires in all kinds of directions.Left and right,up and down,in small circles and see if it affects the light. If the light goes on and off at all, briefly or whatever, and does not stay on,inspect the wires and the connector. The ground should trace back to either a visible central grounding point,or something else that is attached directly to ground. Also,I am not familiar with all bikes/models/years but you could check the bulb itself and see if it is screwed in tight enough or whatever. If it has a central tab for the type of bulb that you push down and twist to insert, that is the power input and it grounds on the sides of the inside where it is plugged in.If the tab is pushed down too far,it may not make good contact with the bottom of the bulb.If you have ny electrical measuring equipment,it would be useful. If not,no big deal,we can figure this out.The light also comes on automatically when you turn the key too right?Let me know if you find anything,if not please feel free to reply and we can figure this out.Good luck and ride on! I have a 2002 Yamaha SR125 and my original Speedometer has packed in. Everything works apart from the mileage. Does anyone know how to wind the Clock back?

This is a highly ill - eagle act to do. In the old days we would put an electric drill on the drive cable, but now they make them tamper proof so they only go one way. The bezels are crimped on so you can't get inside them. I expect modern one may be electronic. How will your insurance company know what mileage you have done? I have never known an insurance cancel or fine due to mileage. You should have just disconnected it when you got close to the limit. Buy a used one and use them for 6 months in turns. There are two or three here 23K and one with 36k https://www.google.com/search?q=2002+yamaha+sr125+speedometer ..

Yamaha XT125X - I have just changed the fuel valve and put petrol in the tank. Now the engine won't start and the fuel light is on all of the time? Any ideas anyone please?

Make sure the fuel is getting to the valve and passing through it. Possible blockage in fuel line or in the tank.
