Rear turn signals
Check the wiring, you might have the tail lights wired wrong or if you have led taillights installed they could be the culprit - you might have to install a new flasher designed to work with LED lights.
Charging system
Take it to a auto parts store like autozone and have them test it. They do it for free.
Wire cut
yes it won't start if no lights are on upon pre cranking, especially the headlights. if you fix that wire and still no start and all lights are on try checking the kick stand switch and if all that don't work wire harness fried. I been there. 2003 R1
Installation instructions
The question is not clear and request your clarification. If you have the original exhaust there is no harm in fitting unless it is a modified one for which the engine tuning must be reset.
I have a 2009 yanaha yzf-r6 that was wrecked. what is a code 70
Sorry I don't know- I am not a Yamaha technician. The most likely answer is that it refers to a sensor overload to the Engine Management System. This could cause a percieved under rev at the percieved road speed. Or it could be your attempt at a wheelie failed. In the event it was the latter, I would suggest practising on an old trailie in a field, that is how I learned
Error code 40, found problem, still wont start
you can disconnect the battery to clear the codes. If I remember correctly the code 40 is indicating an open injector circuit. You might want to check that area as well as the service manual for more detail
Hello. I own a
I had a very similar accident on my Suzuki GSX750, I did the work myself of installing the parts, the insurance estimate was $3500.00 That was for fairings, new mirrors, new exhaust pipes, and turn signals front and rear, for the additional damage you have of the gas tank an headlights I would add at least $500.00 more for parts. Below is a link to a parts site that has diagrams of all the parts on the bike with prices, I suggest you do the whole list and then add about 7 hours labor at your local rate.

17 - EXUP servo motor circuit: open or short circuit detected or loose connection.
-------
18 - EXUP servo motor is stuck.
-----
The error code 17 means you have a malfunctioning EXUP exhaust valve, or EXUP servo motor. It could be that your servo motor has fried, could be that some wires got loose, or it could be that your exhaust valve just needs a good cleaning and lubricating, if it's had a hard life.--------------
The Code 18 is for the valve in the exhaust system right before it goes into the pipe. Apparently what happens is that the valve gets sticky and doesnt want to move properly, its just supposed to make the exhaust flow a little more efficient.
-------
Take off that black cowl at the base of the exhaust pipe right behind the right foot peg, then you will be able to see the valve and the cables attatched to it.
------
Another thing to keep in mind is that if you get any aftermarket exhaust, even just a slip on, you take that valve out completely, so it wont even be an issue, you take away the cables and everything, but you leave the servo motor in place that drives them. Once all the junk is out of the way, the code 18 will get cleared up.--------
----------
And for motor cycle getting bog down and dies, this problem relates to vacuum leak.It sounds like a vacuum leak... double check all your connections and make sure everything is tight.Remove the air box and inspect, if any hose or connection is loose/ cracked, tight all the allen key clamps around the throttle body.Check the the seals on the bottom of the air box, if they got loose then this needs to be re-sealed properly.-----
Also inspect fuel pump, fuel filters and injectors. If they are clogged then this will cause the engine dying problem.--------
Getting this possibilities checked will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
R6 engine starts then runs
Hi, sounds like fuel, however try testing the temprature of all four exhausts while the engine is running, poss spark plugs are fuel contaminaed. Care should be taken as the exhaust pipes close to the engine become extremely hot, but 1 exhaust not as hot as the others would point towards a fuel starvasion or a fould spark plug
Engine is turning over but
hi i cant really answer this as u didnt state what type of bike it is. if you refer to your owners manual it should tell you what error 1 means. as every error number is a different problem it could be something simple just wont fire due to safety features i hope this helps you. thanks ladjr2
YZF 600 RR
Always good to give all the details possible to help us help you. You failed to mention the year model, but the wiring on the YZF's are similiar. First i would check all your fuses, even the main in line fuse thats in the red cable from the battery. A voltage meter is also needed. Remove your seat and battery covers, start unpluging and test voltage from the battery to the ignition switch. If the connectors are corroded, clean them with a small file and electric contact cleaner...several dirty connectors in a row will cause a drop in voltage. Also important are the grounds, check the main ground cable from the battery to the frame...this is a known problem area, remove it and clean it. Good luck, i hope this helps.
