I havw a togglw switvh in plave of ignition .basic as it gets and affective

My 96 200 dt200r has no ignition. Prevuous ownr installed a toggle switch .wish had elec start still

It will probably be 12volt 5Ah. Check with your local dealer for confirmation and exact size.

Check for any splits on the rubber intake sleeve.this is what connects the carb to the bike.If this does not rectify the fault then strip down and clean the carb jets especially the idle jet as it may be slightly blocked causeing such symptoms.good luck

You most likely have a blown head gasket.

The police department could find out but they probably would not tell you. They are pretty freaky about giving out information. Try the vehicle regristration department in your city. The gals at the counter would be more willing to help if done on a slow day. They may not want to help unless you tell them why you want to know. Beyond that, the VIN will not help and the engine number is a total waste of time. Understand, if the bike was never licensed for the street, ie., no headlights, horn, turn signals or brake lights, there would not be a registration number for it; just a title of ownership. check the gear plates and concult to a mechanics

its a 1000cc i think, and if its been hot wired it will be most likely in the key part of the wiring, Most bikes if you unplug the key wires it will start but have no lights, if you can get me the make and model i can find you a wire diagram and tell you how to hotwire it.

unbolt the caliper (the thing that grabs the disk) get a pair of big pliars and compress the caliper back in if it doesnt copress at first, loosen the bleed screw (the little bolt with the hole and nipple on it) until all the way compressed. tighten while fluid is still coming out make sure NO air gets in, take off the old pads and put new ones in bolt back up and fill the resivoure with brake fluid. pump the breaks until they are hard again make sure fluid is topped up.

DRUM

unbolt all attaching lines or supports for the brake, loosen chain tightners and let chain off, unbolt wheel axel and pull wheel out, pull the brake hub out and change the pads pull them up into a V shape and they just pop off. to put back on slot hub into wheel, add spacers and chain tensioners hook chain on, and slide axel back in, make sure theres lots of grease on your bearings while the wheel is off, Dont get any grease on the brake pads or your breaks will not work too well.

hi buddy do these bikes all ready have a kick start as i know the dtr has also you will need a 15a fuse for elec starter

hi buddy strip the cylinder off and inspect the small end bearing which part is moving up and down the conrod or piston and get back to me bud

I am unsure if your bike uses a coil or CID pack for the spark but whichever it has is most likely the cause. also if you have a kill switch then I would disconnect the wiring to make sure the switch is not grounding out the spark.

CHECK YOUR CARB IS SET UP PROPERLY MANUL WILL HELP WITH THIS AND COST ROUND £20.

IF THE SPINDLE/AXLE ARE OF THE SAME SIZE,BRAKES INTER CHANGEABLE ETC THEN YES

could be black or green,but if it is disconected it sdhould run as the switch just earths the power

Turn fuel on, turn ignition key, engage choke, hold clutch in, press starter.
Not being rude, but if you don't know how to start this bike, do you think you are able to operate it?
As to manual, you can buy them at the Yamaha dealers.

You need new regulator and new battery.The battery works as a filter as well.If it is in bad condition it does not filter anything and in high rpm the current is very high.

You will need a flywheel puller, ( dealer can sell you one > low cost ), and a hammer.
Remove the nut and washer holding the flywheel. Now screw the puller into the flywheel as far as it will easily go. Be sure to back off the pullers' center screw when mounting puller. Tighten the center screw REALLY tight then firmly strike the center of the puller screw with a medium size hammer. Alternate tightening the center screw and striking with the hammer. To tighten the center screw you will want to strike the screw handel with medium hammer force. A few blows with the hammer should pop the flywheel.
