OK, it's not display, it's the power feeding it. You have a fuse blown somewhere or a dodgy connection in a connector.

Hi there you may need to take seat off again take out fuse re connect when it flahes between myr and endr select mode with indicator whilst pressing mode switch or select mthen press mode I know indicator is involved from memories of my sons 96 model replaced battery 2 years ago. Us geriatric dads eh. Hope this helps Stuart

if the light just comes on before starting....its probably a light test check...Yamaha does this on many models so you know the bullb works.

If it is on with engine running...different issue

i would check the fuse for the headlights may not be right one therefore causing the bulbs to blow

From the positive lead on the battery, follow that wire all the way to the coil. Somewhere inline along that wire should be the fuse. Most dirtbikes only have 1 main fuse, usually of 20amps.

This is a very common problem for the yamaha xt 125. I suggest that you either buy a new Heads up display or you take it down to yamaha and get them to fit another one, which i think might be free of charge due to it being a problem with the bikes.

what wires do you put together on a xt 125 to get it started?? some1 tried stealing mine but not got away with it

you can use a hair dryer to dry it up. If you can open the compartment and dry directly the moving parts, the better. You may sun dry it as well. Either way works.

i have an xt125r and i had the same problem. try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then when u reconnect it the screen will flash endr/mtrd and select your model(mtrd for xt125x) by turning the ignition key and pressing the blue button(the one u set your lcd with)
when it's on mtrd. the battery is under the seat:p. hope it solves your problem, and make sure it's an x(much smaller front wheel)

remove the speedo cable and check the inner part

Sounds like the clutch is failing. The engine is reving up and the bike doesn't as much? the screeching is the clutch slipping, check to be sure the clutch is adjusted with free play at the handle and smooth operation ( cable works smoolthly ). Then reserch how to get the cluch set and when it arrives change the clutch. It's possible that the primary gear set has failed is it really loud? Take the cluch cover off and inspect for busted parts and striped gears. what ever you find write down the parts needed and put it back together as the longer it's apart the more likly you'll never get it fixed.

first of all you have to see the low tension on the coil,and before that see what type of code is , because that maybe the key start

You might have to look for a mecanic to help you with this.

Check all the filters (fuel,oil,air,...)
Check wether the carb is in need of cleaning and or setting.
Check the cilinder for internal damage.
Check the spark plug(s)
Check the exhaust for some kind of abnormal restriction.
Check the clapets if there are any (located between the carb and the cilinder, used to make a thin spray from the fuel that's been sucked in which makes it easier and gentlier for the engine to ignite it ;d)

Go on line to E-bay, mc parts and you will find most of your parts.
Also try your nearest mc salvage. I get most of my parts from them.

Fist you need good air tools to break it loose.then lean bike over so you done loose oil. then buy a really good set of clutch plates dont go cheap and get a barnet racing set. get good after market springs for good launches off the line. you may not need the basket and you can clean up the ring, but the plates sound be new and all soaked in oil before installing.
when you install a racing clutch and have it all finished you will notice creep when starting to move this is normal. man when i put mine in i said i would never go back to stock..when i raced my hurricane at willow springs i beat everyclass 600 and 1000 off the line till fouth third gear..and the clutch made all the difference. good luck man and take you time clutch plates need to be put in exact.
