Heedlight bulb keeps blowing
several reasons , it could a cheap bulb or the back or inside of
bulb holder itself has a lot of corrosion, or it is lose in the socket
and if that is the case it will shorten the life of the bulb, also you
should never touch the bulb with your bare hands or use a oil soaked rag . becareful when you change it any oil from your fingers
will shorten the life. if you have extra power going to the bulb will
shorten the life, check your voltage coming in to the socket . check
with just the key on and when it is running, compare your readings.

Sounds like jetting is to rich, recheck settings and fuel height settings, need to get the fuel mixture correct as that bike will develop other running issues due to carbon build up in the rear cylinder. check out www.roadstarclinic.com as this is a good source for information on this bike
It dies while driving at road speed
Possibly water in the fuel, bad fuel pump, plugged fuel filter. First need to figure out if it is spark problem or fuel problema and I would bet it is a fuel issue.
I had an 06 Road Star and it is a great bike.
Hope this helps.

Broken plug for oil
I assume you mean oil drain plug? Broken as in corners rounded off so you cannot remove it or snapped off or cross threaded?
Can't remove fuse box cover
The fuse box under the seat usually has either 1 tab on the end with a hinge at the other end or 1 tab on each end, all you do is push the tabs inward and lift straight up.
Put in new starter it
The starter engages with the starter clutch, normaly when the starter spins and doesnt engage, it is because the clutch bearings within the clutch have worn the machined surfaces causing the clutch to stick and not engage when the starter is pressed
Will only stay running with
Your fuel to air mixture is way off. This can be a carb adjustment, or blocked fuel line, fuel jets (or filter). You could try backing out your fuel jets by 1/4 turn at a time if you want to play with it your self... other wise take it to the bike shop so they can do a tune up... sounds like it's ready for one. Hope this helps :)
Hello. I have 2006 yamaha
You did not say if you had the relocation kit installed on your bike or not, but in most case the fuel pump on these bikes have been a problem. It's electronic and controlled by the CDI, in connection with the TPS. If all your fuses and relays check out ok, and there are no restrictions in the fuel lines, or filter, the vent on the tank is ok...the CDI is the suspect.
2008 silverado 1670 cc engine,
Hello and welcome to FixYa!
I suspect that you have current irregularities that's why the engine runs rough. It's good to know that you replaced the spark plugs. The next thing to do is to replace the plug wires for it can be worn out or faulty that's why it's running rough.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
I need the torque spec.
just make sure it good and tight. torque specs are more for surfaces that have gaskets or something you dont want over tightened. I use a 3/8 impact and just run it down tight.
Tapping sounds come from engine.
I assuming this Yamaha is a off road or road trail as the road Yamaha's are pretty good regarding engine noise - any how the off roaders are renowned for engine tap if is just quiet tapping that is regular with speed of engine and not on and off again worse at high or low speeds then would not be to concerned.
if it is irregular and loud and worse at high or low speed stop riding and get checked for sure!
I WANT TO INSTALL A
The job is relatively easy: the control module goes on the wire to the rear brake light - you just cut it off then you insert the module in there; on top of that you will have to draw another wire from the fusebox to power it.
The location and color of the brake wire depends on what model, series of the bike and place of manufacturing. But it's easy to identify it: you just open the rear lights module and you take a look at which wire plugs in the brake bulb. In your case it should be a brown-red wire going under the seat , verify it before doing anything.
All of this requires at least a basic experience in car or moto electrics - if you don't know how to test a wire and how to connect it to a fuse box you shouldn't do the job - the risk of frying something by accident is too great.
First ride of the yaer
8 flashes is a fuel sender fault....check your connections to the sender, pinched wires etc
If no success....you will need to find the test procedure for your model....usually involves a resistance check on the disconnected sender wires.
