Hi, Kyle let me set the record straight about spark plug "HYPE" it's all "SNAKE OIL" Your bike when new came with a specific spark plug designed to give you maximum performance for the type of riding the bike was intended for. In my 60 years of riding motorcycles, the factory OEM spark plug worked the best. But what about the Multi Pronged-Platinum Core-Golden Tipped-Lazer Cut-Logo Etched-with exclusive patent designed LED cooling fins made in Hermetically sealed laboratories-packaged in Water Proof-Ballistic Transparent Thermoplastic Acrylic Plexiglass and endorsed by NASA that sells for the outrageously low discounted price of only $25 a piece you ask? Excellent question, these plugs only work in the Millennium Falcon. Seriously the bottom line in all these fancy plug designs claims may be true but it would take a team of Nuclear Physicists using classified electronic instruments to prove it. Regular folks like you and me would never see any difference. The temptation to spend 10x the cost of an OEM spark plug is great thanks to the highly paid wall street ad agencies, but trust me, save your money and replace your spark plugs with the ones recommended in your owners manual, if there was a better spark plug out there don't you think all the motorcycle manufacturers would use it? I have wanted to write this for a long time now my work is done, go in peace for all is right with the world. Hi, Anonymous tail light issues are relatively easy to diagnose and repair always check the tail light fuse first and make sure you have power on both sides of the fuse holder and the usual suspects are:
1. Tail light bulb element is broken.
2. Tail light bulb soldered contacts are extremely worn down.
3. Tail light bulb socket corroded.
4. Tail light bulb socket has no power and or ground.
5. Tail light wiring harness damaged from the rear tire.
6. Tail light rear fender wiring harness connector faulty due to corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.
Before diagnosing any brake light issue always check the bulb and fuse first for integrity a brake light staying on is usually caused by the front brake light switch, which is mechanical, not disengaging. On early models moving the throttle control housing closer to the front brake master cylinder is the main fix. On late models, the switch gets tweaked and needs to be realigned. A brake light that does not come on when the brake lever is applied can be caused by a faulty switch or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. The rear brake light switch is hydraulic and it is extremely rare to malfunction in a closed circuit condition causing the brake light to stay on. Usually, rear brake light switch issues are caused by no brake pedal free play or a sticky rear master cylinder piston. A brake light that does not come on when the rear brake pedal is depressed can be caused by a faulty switch, air contamination in the brake line, or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. I had this exact problem with my r125. My speedo just read 0 and warning light came on. This is caused by a faulty speedo cable. You need to unclip it from under the clocks (the white connector running to the side of the front wheel) and take the front wheel off. Then replace the speedo sensor with a "new" one (quite fiddly to put all back together). Got mine off eBay for just a few pounds. When it's all back together, the warning light will still be on, but when you ride off and the speedo reads something other than 0, the light will go off, and problem solved! When your wheel is off, take the time to re lube the axle, makes putting the axle back in so much easier and your front wheel will turn so smoothly and freely. Make sure you keep note of how the spacer goes in, and I'd get a friend to help support the wheel as you put it back in, makes it so much easier as it's quite fiddly by yourself.
