hi, in this situation when replacing a conrod you should make your markings before disasembly, by using a straight edge and a scriber, by marking the face of each flywheel of the crankshaft, from left to right, i would suggest in this case, you get your crank halfs as close as you can to aligned by eye, press the fitted pin and rod about 3-5 mm into the mateing flywheel and recheck realignment, it is most inportant you that this as acurate as poss as misalignment will cause damage, have you taken any measurments of assembled crankshaft width? another important factor, when pressing the 2 halfs together, press the crankshalf half with the fitted pin into the other half, with the fitted half upwards so you are pressing on the pin and not the crankshaft, when you press make sure the pin enters the hole as true as poss as you will push a new hole or elongate the hole making it unusable. when almost together use a feeler gauge between the thrust washer and crankshaft of about 0.40mm when pressure is felt on the blade stop pressing, as you have now gone far enough, final truing up can be done with the use of a dti gauge and some v blocks, if out of alignment, you can use a copper hammer holding the crankshaft in your hand and quickly striking 1 flywheel in the direction required to align it, avoide striking it by pre drilled holes, paul
