How do i change back light piaggio zip
It's a bad design , you need to remove the two screws and gently lever the lens off it lifts out of the recess it's in and pulls off try warming it up with a hairdrier to stop it breaking.
If I turn the handlebars to the left from dead centre the headlight goes off on my Piaggio Zip 50
If you can't replicate the fault by wiggling, my next concern would be that it might be getting pinched. This might cause a grounding fault to the chassis if any bit of the wire is exposed. However, sometimes cable breaks are internal and the wires short out without you seeing. I would think you'be be blowing a fuse if this were the case. Just in case, rule that problem out.
If you have a multimeter unplug one side of the headlight wire and put a lead on each wire. Move the handlebars and see if at any point it drops to 0 ohms. This would rule out any of the conditions above (short to chassis or to wire). The next step is to unplug both sides of the cable. I'm not sure of the wiring diagram for the scooter, but if you can't unplug the other side and it goes straight to the fuse, remove the fuse. Essentially what I am asking you to do is make a continuity check. The positive lead on one side, use the multimeter to check the length of the cable. Here you are looking for 0 ohms per wire. Again move the handlebar and now see if the resistance jumps up to an "open" state (anything other than 0).
If you find a wiring diagram let me know, I'll take a look it at for you.
