How do I change my oil
First put your bike up on the large kick stand .2nd use a 17 mm socket and remove drain plug on bottom of engine. You dont have to remove the farings. After you drain the oil replace plug.Reach in front of the engine behind the front tire and remove the oil filter and replace. Finally add 4 qts of 10w-30 or 10w-40 motorcycle oil.Check ur oil through the oil window on the side of bike.
Amount of oil
The Engine oil capacity on the VL 800 is:
3.2 U.S. Quarts (3000 ml) without a filter change
3.6 U.S. Quarts (3400 ml) with a filter change.
While Suzuki does not expressly recommend a filter change with every oil change, I change the filter anyway. I don't like the idea of leaving nearly a half quart of old, dirty oil in my machine.
How i wire a GSX-R 600 year 2003 ignition
there is a resistor inside the ignition on the black box you need, twist the RED and ORANGE wires, the orange wires are actually one wire split into two further down by the connector so cut the red and orange wires from here. you then need to join the ORANGE/YELLOW wire to one end of the resistor and the BLACK/WHITE wire to other end, clean up and protect with electrical tape and snip other two wires, you dont need them. now can you tell me what colour wires connect to each other on the right handle switch, i need to know the colours of the wires on the switch side where it connects to the main wiring harness (both sides plz say which is which!!) cheers mate
Brakes were spongy on my gsx600f so bought braided
Must still be air in the line....
When you bleed the brakes, use a small jar with some brake fluid in it.
From the bleeder nipple to the jar with the brake fluid you need a length of clear plastic tube.
Put the spanner on the nipple, push the plastic tube on the nipple and the other end in the brake fluid in the jar.
Open the bleeder nipple and pump the brake lever until all the air is out, you may have to refill the reservoir while doing this.
If you need to refill the reservoir close the bleeder nipple.
Also check the disk pistons for corrosion, you may have to take them out and clean them.
When you reassemble them use a small amount of silicon grease to lubricate them.
Hope this helps...
Starts idles for a minute then dies
Have you checked the actual fuel pipes for flow ? You might need a carb refurbish kit. Weak vacuum causes similar type problems.
